Do you like fake news or real news? Well the left has spread fake news for decades and now the matrix is starting to be opened up....I am on the side of right yes right Vs wrong/left
Neither....I don't even like the party system.....people should be voted in solely on their merit not the party they belong to....both parties do whats best for themselves and not the country......
NHS or The Army? NHS Guardian or Daily Mail? Guardian. Love or money? Love. Science or religion? Science. The Beatles or Simon Cowell? Beatles. The arts or the manufactures? The Arts.

Yes, I'm fairly left-wing.
Roundedness or specialisation? Roundedness. Knowledge for its own sake or the need to know basis? Knowledge for its own sake. State school or private? State.
Of course I'm not referring now to the old Right who taught Latin, but the X Factor Right popular since the 1980s.

The list is endless, I carry all the hallmarks of a left-winerg and I think this is why when I support the right it's rarely for the same reasoning as the majority of right-wingers. For one things it's been reasoned, it's not instinctive suspicion or gut hatred where you see starving Syrians and feel happiness, I feel sympathy and reason checks against the emotion whereas for most people right-wing politics are an emotional outpouring.
Tax the Jones or keep up with the Jones? Tax. The places nobody goes or the tourist traps? The places nobody goes. Motivated by curiosity or envy? Curiosity.
Both... I am a communist but the communist you have no idea about...I am a patriot and a bit of a nationalist... I am for the original feminism and the free choice. I am for the social consciousness and social responsibility... I am centered...because both options are weak on their own...and impractical in reality..
And that's the weakness in the left-wing; curiosity which kills the cat. Diversity, newness are risks you take and the right are not all wrong to warn you of the dangers of this more rounded and egalitarian society you imagine. The basic and the bland are not always wrong simply for the fact that there are limits to how far you can adapt or progress in a short space of time.
Another factor in curisoity and love of the new is never forget who you are. Your roots are your roots and they cannot be replaced by other roots. Appointing some gays to positions of powers because historically gays were given a rough time and tearing down the family because traditionally women were given an inferior place in the family do not work. The practice of the few consciously compensating for the prejudice of the many is a failure.
The right needs to deal with the issue of the wealth gap, keeping up with the Jones and motivation by envy. Right-wing people are motivated by envy but there's a limit. You can become such a loser that envy leads to hopelessness. If 10% of people have a realistic chance of winning then another 40% will think it's them and you can make half the population support policies which favour 10%, arrogance will work in tandem with envy. However, when this chance becomes less than 1% the talentless and misguided arrogance of the 40% will turn nasty. When envy is no longer a spur to imitate your betters it becomes an appetite to tyrannise your lessers like in prison where people have no actual prospects.

Which all depends on the status of the middle class in society. If it's prosperous then it's conservative keeping up with Jones through an envy which maintains the status quo, but if the middle class is insecure it will become reactionary tyrannise the lesser through an envy which yearns for the past - i.e. a time when it was more important and powerful than it is now. This is the difference between Teddy Roosevelt and Trump, the talk softly and carry a big stick approach of the secure middle class versus MAGA and the middle classes who feel the end is nigh and require salvation from and revenge for their endless decline.

And what you'll find generally is that 90 year old right-wingers are more like Teddy Roosevelt because they can certainly remember a time which is worse than today, much worse.
It's the younger ones 45 to 75 who are the most reactionary right-wing and liable to believe the end is nigh, those whose childhood pyschology and lifelong expectation was moulded in the luxury of post-war prosperity. Trump's promise of Aake America Great Again(and it won't even be that hard)is aimed at this demographic which was born prosperous and then lost it without once understanding how such prosperity came to be or how it came to pass.
The liberalism of today is twisted through the prism of the self indulgence and self approval... Anything goes and anything is right... Lack of appreciation and culture of instant gratification is what will trip over the new generations in their careless stepping towards a pink future where having a foot long beard at 20, grow a pot of weed on your balcony and carry a yoga mat is a social status of the successful individual... Having it too easy is what makes you a liberal and Beatles were hypocrite to tell you all you need is love...
Never mind the semantics - Left or Right - Only 2 options to vote for today is politically redundant as it dismisses Centrist views held by many true Social Democrats. There are people I know being one myself who still know what it is like to be dictated to by a far right Employer with two or more companies who hypocritically says all Workers are communists & accuses them of divided loyalty if they have used their brain & similar initiative to do a second job in their own time. . .
The important thing to undersaand in free society is that there is a difference between left and right and what kind of person they attract - so long as there's a free choice. Obviously under communism or any totalitarian state political labels don't have the same meaning, in a communist or fascist society you never know who the natural anti-communists and anti-fascists are.
And that's the point. The brainwashed and the fanatic will attempt to convince you that there's no difference between left and right - they will claim that all the moderates are the same - and basically all beliefs are meaningless if they're not their own belief. Totalitarian egotists from the left and right will discredit everything but their own position because you must understand that only they are unique.
It's not a coincidence that the politically apathetic and lazy who claim sometimes charismatically and persuasively that all the politicians are the same often can't read. I don't mean literally can't read, I mean they can't concentrate. You put a book in front of them and it's like watching a sheep trying to use an iPhone. These are the people who will march us into a totalitarian state.
Let's say I don't trust anybody who throws vegetables and fruit to the animals just because they don't have a certain shape... A pretentious society that loves to show empathy whenever an opportunity arises but has all the wrong priorities...
Occupation is another thing which seems to reflect political tendency and personality type.
It isn't usual to find a right-wing doctor or scientist, and it's decisively unusual to find a right-wing comedian or musician. And this isn't a mianstream media plot against right-wing comedians, the local circuit tells a similar story.
But then on the other hand soldiers and salespeople have the opposite tendency. But not conscripts, something about fighting a fight you were never looking for pushes people to the left. You have to want and like shooting people and join the army from free choice for this to mean you're more likely right-wing.
And then there are more neutral occupations. Engineers could easily be on the right or left, but what he will likely be is the practical wing of the left and the logical wing of the right. And then there are lawyers who are like engineers inverted. The lawyer could easily be on the left or right depending on whether they do corporate law or human rights, but he will not not be the practical side of either. Material reality is the furthest thing from his mind.
The honest question to ask yourself is how strongly do you believe in a dog eat dog world where you don't really have any friends and you're suspicious of everyone you meet?
The answer is your place on the political spectrum.
I'm conservative so I don't lean to the right. I run to the right.
I also believe that most people are conservative, but because the meaning of conservatism has been turned into something it's not, most don't realize their conservative. You can't use the current crop of Republicans as an example of what a conservative is as most are not what I would call "conservative."
You claim it is the left with the "fake news", ..... I take it you believe all that 'Fox News' has to offer? Give me a break, please, there is no left or right anymore, hasn't been for quite a few years. I know, I've been around for more than a few decades to watch how things have progressed. HRC the "Democrat", is/was further right that Ronald Reagan ever thought of being, as was her husband and Barack the con-man. They're all mouth piece puppets of the military/industrial/surveillance complex. It doesn't matter who TPTB puts into the White House, it's continue to screw the little guy, keep the wars going, & keep controversy in the spotlight, so the people wont look behind the curtain and see who it is pushing the buttons and pulling the levers. But you're welcome to your opinion.
