So many times it feels there is no place for me, nor is there any place that I feel comfortable or accepted. Many of similar people I know feel the same way. Perhaps it's our own self doubt or depression. Or maybe it's like many other "different" types of people, there just isn't a place for us at all.
I'm wondering whether you will get the responses you seek on the forums as most people are senior aged, 50s to 70s and beyond, and may not have had a great deal of experience with Goth culture
At the same time though, I believe there's a place for all of us in this world, regardless of our age, religion, culture, lifestyle etc.
I wonder whether you have sought out other Goth people, particularly around your own age, and would interested to hear your comments if so
whynot just go trans and the gov will roll out a red carpet for you..you can be special and everybody will simp to you and try to make you feel better...the actions make the person not the costume, that being said if you wear a funny costume people will stop and stare, probably criticize..they are allowed to do so right? after all a costume is for a show. i get the world is dark and i pretty much only wear black. i am not an extrovert however..we all face criticisms so if people poking at you ignore them, however take an honest look in the mirror..are you screaming out? expect edgy results then....pal be who you want to be and be a light in the world not a harbinger of doom.we all hold the keys to our own prisons.good luck.
I think you worry too much, about what others think of you and you shouldn't, it's you doubting yourself, long as you thinking about how people may not accept or won't accept you, you gone have all kinds of problems, don't let that worry you
Never had a problem with Goths. I actually got hugged by a few young Goth teens at the local Love Fest a few months ago because I was handing out free candy and beads. I think the NetFlix show Wednesday inspired them to be Goth.

The Goths that hugged me were young women not boys.

Interesting, well that's good about not having a problem with someone who is Gothic. The overall poll seemed to have worked out well for a positive. It's more inperson I guess, where people be rude or make fun of the Gothic lifestyle I live.

I don't see what being Trans would have to do with it. Nor is there that great of support for trans, maybe with Government, but not with people. And there is no costume for me, unless of course some would want to compare a costume with black combat boots and black skinny jeans lol, it just happens to be what I wear and like. Either way I get it, some people like it, some don't. Not everyone is going to like me, I can't help that.

While I don't consider the Goth look particularly disturbing, it is a costume and indicative of what might be considered a religion.
I have always been an "outsider"..........I have been a "part" of various groups but much of the time I'm solitary. My daughter has been a Goth her whole life (she's 39 now) and we have talked about neither of us wanted to be a 'part' of the mainstream.........As a "Cowboy Philosopher on YT Shorts said recently."The only person you can be best at is yourself. But first, you have to find that place within yourself and Honor it; give you your due. You're worth just as much as anyone else.........there are Billions of people on this planet right now, but there is only ONE YOU!" Sure, having friends to associate with and share with is important...............but keep the knowing that YOU are worthy right as you are..........Be Well!
I have some of the dark qualities. Like some of the clothes. But, not the extreme. Like most fads, it is to get attention and stand out..be different. Darkness is a part of life. But, you can't let it overwhelm you.
