yeah... well good for ya.....

i on the other hand am still on the prowl and due to previous and ongoing circumstances i dont see my hunting days to end any time soon.... it would take one hell of a prize trophy to make me consider the option of putting my orange vest away and retire from the hunt !!!!!

.... somehow i dont see that happening !!!

Muley's better chick, they don't taste like an acornhug

Nah, not really. My nephews (Buckeyes) brought out some Whitetail a few years back. They actually liked the Muley better than their Whitetail. I'm think'n it was who cooked the meat more than anything!!

In response to: I never have and never will hunt just for sport. But I have hunted for food and I see nothing wrong with that, although others may feel differently, it's understandable.

Me thinks that "hunting for food" should have been another option in the poll, as both of the current ones are practically the same, only worded slightly differently.

shhhlllluuurrrppp!! Yummy a nice wet one grin

My parents and older brother only hunted for whitetail in the upper parts of Michigan and is where I'm originally from as far as I know.

It's true it does sometimes make a difference on how/who cooked the meat.

I like making chili from scratch and putting it in a cast iron dutch oven placed on an open fire. There's also nothing like venison steaks/burgers cooked over an open fire as well.

I don't hunt because I just don't have the time. I'm happier "stalking"- watching the animals in their natural habitat. I'll never dismiss someone else's right and happiness in hunting, however as conservation is needed. I do have a sign on the front gate that says, "Hunters Welcome. Check In At The House". The hunters have to check in with either myself, the ranch foreman, or my housemate. Then at the end of the day, they have to show us what they bagged. This way a record can be kept and the wildlife is replenished as necessary (not cheap to do, btw). I ask the hunter to say a blessing over what they bagged, thanking it for its' sacrifice and may it feed many people. It seems like good karma and re-establishes balance back to the land. It's great to see new wildlife taking its first steps each spring as life renews itself.

My dad and grandfather hunted on occassion and mom and grandma would marinate the meat in apple cider. It turned out wonderful. It was a welcome respite from the usual beef, chicken and pork. wine

Personally,
I see ABSOLUTLY NO problem
in either..
were it in my beliefs, morals, and need to survive..
I guess that is why "some" humans survive and prosper..
while others exist and serve..dunno
If I had the answers.. or could judge..
I'd not be here..
