Yash124g: Just looked at this thread as I do not hunt & doubt I ever could, however I think it is wrong to assume that because one hunts one cannot also show a love of animals. In fact one may even build up a rapore with their prey over the years, (Deer Hunter, great film).

In the UK there is regular culling of deers in national parks as well as private game keepers. This is mainly due to there being no large natural predators here and I believe it is the lame, sick or old that are killed to keep numbers in check.

Another major factor is with re-newable energy, and no doubt farmers are utilising manure in larger numbers than they once did and is certainly far better than all the pestacides used over the decades. It also makes good business for both supplier & distributer.

I do prefer that people hunt for survival than sport, but they may have problems of controlling numbers also, and it makes logical sense to get people willing to pay to hunt them rather than becoming another tax burden.

As for humour, everyone is different and people will both like/dislike what is here but the same can be said of any other subject discussed. It depends on a persons morals & the society they are used to being in, though always good to use one's common sense..

Also, for those in UK Ray Mears has a new series on BBC2, Northern Wilderness - Canada:

Very good post, it covers everything that has gone on so far. Sometimes things go sliding in all directions but there is no need for people to try and degrade others. Great fan of Ray Mearsthumbs up thumbs up

Now you do realise you could have in fact insulted Muslims with that statement.

Much the same way as you did with Larry regarding God.

It is no different to how you feel about the killing of animals.

You are entitled to your beliefs and way of life but that same rule appplies to everyone else.

That is what makes life fascinating as we are all different. You just have accept what other people's choices/views are, is that so difficult to do??

Did i say that? I have never been an angel but i admit at least that i contributed to harming and killing of animals because i was eating meat and consuming dairy products. Why is it so difficult for you to admit that hunting an animal is murder???

Okay, have to be more specific for you.

Do you see humans as being a) higher; b) lower; or c) equal to that of all other animals?

LaVerdad thumbs up

Saw one of Ray Mears Austialian programmes earlier this year with an outback policeman. He learnt all the ways of the Aborigines and tracked muderer's/rapists so on, but being like Old West, he had the authority to be judge & jury, and he used it. Think this was back in 50/60's but very interesting.

As much as I would like to try the forests, I am too lazy and it is bad enough trying to eat food served on a plate rather than living off-the-land.. Think I have been institutionalized by City Living grin

Yes this happens. But at least you have a valid opinion, make sense and appreciate what others say, good reasoning too.wine
