Laura25: I feel the same way.

Even though I don't think it's realistic to hope that all people are going to make a choice to become vegans,

I am convinced that meat, egg & dairy industries are too cruel to exist in a form it is today.
I'd rather hunt vegans than eat just veggies ! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Ahh Ms Laura25,
don't bother your pretty lil head with all that morality stuff..
Just let the Men and Women decide, and you can reap
the freedoms, gifts, and fruits of their labors and sacrafices..(sp)

Life IS not fair..
fairness is a concept invented by those who cannot, in order
to hamper the capable of winning..
but then again..
In case you did not know..
FREEDOM (like for us all to voice our desent)
is NOT free..
it is paid in ways only those called upon to give can count.
I am thankful you have never had to "give"..
and pray your own will never have to either..cheers

Nettermann: yes but plants havent got a central nervous system, animals do have, animals can feel pain and they can screaming and crying, look at my new thread you will see what i am talking about. And i have to eat something too to survive...
why are you talking about overpopulation? Human kind is starting to destroy the living space of all the animals in the world and is also going to extinct all the animals on earth.
There are quite a few places here in the States where some of the wild animals are over-populating, to the point of Rangers having to relocate them as well as allow privilaged/regulated hunting of them. Just here in Kentucky alone, they're dropping off Coyote's, wolves, bears and even rattlesnakes in order to help thin out the populations of these wild critters elsewhere.

But I'll tell you what... The day that YOU can prevent these wild animals to stop and never have an instinct to hunt and kill another animal for it's own survival, will be the day that I will stop hunting them myself. Deal? grin

Or those who don't eat meat and grow their own food and who aren't afraid of the hard work it takes to do that.

Hunting ...blam! ... is the easy way out. Any wuss can aim and fire a gun and blow an animal's brains out. Want hunting to be a real sport? Fine. Play a fair and equitable game. Go out into the woods with no weapon at all, roll the dice and take your chances. Now, THAT'S hunting as a challenge, as a sport. Otherwise, it's just cold-blooded murder of a poor, defenseless animal.

When I hunt, I do so for the meat it provides. Been doing it since being a teenager, and before that with my father while learning its lessons. While I could have checked number one in your poll, it is not "What hunting is for" me. It is not all fun, and games, has I'm sure many hunters will tell you.

Hunting for me... is killing things.... fishing, shooting etc. both of which I enjoy..... but then I always eat what I kill.... am I sounding like Hanibal Lectur now. ?

Unfortunately the human species has upset the balance of nature many years ago and therefore killing things to maintain that balance is neccesary..... so unfortunately all those against hunting have to put their hands up as human beings too, to being part guilty to hunting.

Now hunting for the buzz, or the lump in the underpants is not for me.. You wanna hunt it then eat it.... thats the law of the jungle... hunting to eat.

Thank you sir..
you are WAY more diplomatic in stating "touchy" subjects
then I am...
But what you said.. is what I mean too...
I'm just not "use to explaining things"..
for most of my life.. I GET orders.. I follow them..
I give orders.. THEY are followed..
"questioning".. has never been an issue for/with me..
And yes....
I have been know to put my feet in my mouth..sigh
Anyways.. back to the thread..
thanks for saying it so nice..handshake

As long as meat is available in a grocery store or any one out of 18 billion McDonald's on every corner, there's no need to "catch" my food any way other than that. I'd have to be starving to death and have absolutely no other food source before I could ever kill an animal myself. And it's not because I'm against eating meat; I'm not. (Although I have cut down a bit, because of concerns with the hormones and additives they put in it and the risk of high cholesterol). But I cannot personally kill a living creature. Except roaches and spiders and other yucky itchy stuff. I just don't see how anyone can go out into the woods and see a beautiful majestic buck that took Lord knows how many years to grow all the points on his antlers, standing there in the mist of a cool, dewy morning, and look at that deer, the surroundings, the beauty of nature and all that is in God's world and then take a shotgun and aim it, fire it, and watch a bullet rip through the poor creature's head. Unfreakingfathomable to me.

Of course I've never hunted. I'm not a hypocrite. As far as living off the land, that was your choice. You could have gotten a job and paid for your food at the grocery store, like most regular people do.

1. anyone that shots a trophy buck in the head is an idiot.... talk about ruining it
2. cool dewy beautiful morning???? hahahaha.... obviously you watch too much tv... its more like cold, rainy, miserable crappy weather where you cant even feel your toes and fingers
3. if you use a shotgun to shoot a deer you are also an idiot... unless its a slug and you are no more than 100yds from the thing.

as for the beauty... i agree... but just because i squeeze the trigger at the end you should not assume that i dont appreciate it....
