dezertfox4323: republicans soon to be finished as a party! its over, thank you bush/cheney.

Yeah. They keep trying to prove they have changed, but the greed and corruption and manipulation is all so blatantly obvious now that they would have to replace every Republican politician with someone completely new and change the party's name to gain back half of the trust they lost.

The first three poll answers were the real thing, the rest were tongue in cheek. I was curious how the members felt about their vote come November. It is interesting to read many of the posts and the opinions brought forward, even if they might not reflect mine. That's OK, their points need to be made too.
I pretty much rule out the Dude group because they are paid promoters who only follow the party line as instructed. That's ok too, since this is a place where everybody can have their say, no matter what that may be, unlike a Dictatorship where you might be dead the next morning.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions !handshake

I'll vote Democratic now more than ever after seeing how poorly republicans and conservatives have behaved recently, and what truly poor solutions to the nations problems they provide roll eyes

felixis99: I agree with some of what you say, and I think some is very presumptuous. Who are you to say that those "extra few dollars a month" is something that I can afford? I don't think any of us would deny healthcare to ANYONE, so it becomes a question of whether the enormous bureauacracy we call governemnt is the best provider of that service as we in this country have seen gov't programs poorly administered time and time again, over and over and over agAin - the War on Poverty being clearly the best example now that we have multi-generational families on welfare who have no idea HOW TO LIVE LIFE ANY OTHER WAY. wE HAVE A RIDICULOUS NATIONAL DEBT. oUR CURRENT ADMINISTRATION HAS DONE LESS THAN NOTHING TO PROVE IT IS COMPETENT TO MANAGE MY HEALTHCARE OR YOURS. gET rEAL.

Actually, IMHO, Governments in general are the worst managers of anything they touch. In the U.S. everything they have taken over has either gone broke or close to it. No company in the private sector would survive for very long if they continued to mismanage their assets the way governments do.
The real problem appears to be the fact that a government that has the ability to vote themselves a raise will always think of themselves before the people they have sworn to represent. Frequently a good man or woman is elected that is honest and good, but being in office in the most corrupt city in the U.S. soon strips away the honesty they had when they left home. One can not forget the old saying, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." That fact will never change no matter who is in power.dunno moping

Have you ever lived on welfare?
I'm in NC, here for one child you get about $200 per month to LIVE, that's rent, utilities, god forbid a car payment (and NO there is no public transportation most of the south is RURAL), soap, toilet paper, etc etc etc. But you'll be healthy with unlimited medical care on medicaid (assuming you can get to the doctor and only if you have children) and nice and fat on food stamps. What's the solution? Could you live on $200 a month?

And then we talk crap about people "abusing" the system by collecting benefits and selling dope or working under the table. I'm sorry but who are you to judge if you haven't walked a mile? Collect welfare for six months and see how that works out for you.

Not to mention... when I first moved here I wondered if I was still IN America, the schools here are so horriffic that I have absolutely NO DOUBT what the problem with America is anymore. (I had always lived in democratic states before moving to the south)...
