I'd ask how she decided to change her hair and what led her to her decision. If you are not know to be a blunt/abrasive person, then don't be.
You could even ask her how she likes her new hair style and she might answer all your questions without you having to ask them.

I’ve never witnessed what you’re saying but I've seen some black women with their heads completely shaved and it really suited them; they looked great.

I would worry al lot. Did the had chemio? Or did she suddenly got mad? Frightening in both cases.

That's when I noticed she had no eyebrows or eyelashes. "Why did you do that?" I asked.
She shrugged. "Just wanted to see what I would look like with no hair".
And then she drove us to church.

No, she was a childhood friend. We didn't hang out too much by that point. She is manic depressive so I think that's why she did it. She shaved her son's head a few years later. He was a baby at the time and she was living with her parents. Her mom told me,( with a New Jersey accent), "I went in to take him out of his crib in the morning and he was shaved as bald as a billiard ball!".

Glad you are doing well, Charli! These days if I see a woman with no hair I sort of assume she is undergoing treatment. Which is kind of weird of me, I guess. I can't imagine going through what you have come through.

Guys shave their heads all of the time, why can't women? I shaved my head in college. Just on a dare, cause I had cut my hair when I was drunk. Yeah, stupid. Anyway, I kept it buzzed for two years. It was comfortable and I didn't have to do anything with it

Sorry you had to go through that. It's awful. But, as you said, your health is more important. You are a survivor That Is Great.

It grows back all the way so take heart. I am 5 years out from chemo this summer, and I have great hair now. I too was bald but had a huge hat collection. Being a survivor is the best feeling in the world.
