I've had a few cars at over 200 km/h, as well as a few bikes. 
That's one of the few good things about the prairies, flat, and you can see for miles and miles ahead of you. I'll think of something else good about them eventually.

I used to have an old trooper car. A 1970 Dodge custom with a 440. The speedometer went to 160 MPH, and I pinned it. I figure between 170 and 180.

Germany 1986...Ramstein (USAF BASE) to RAF Bruggen.....on the AUTOBAHN......4 lads Porche.......two comfortable in front two squeezed in the back (tiny) 163 mph the highest, and me 150 bottled it overtaking a line of trucks....Great trip, not my car.....I had an old triumph stag...... hardly got out of London.....Stanmore hill 35mph on a good day....

That sure wasn't the same trooper I passed on I-65, in Atlanta, Ga.
I passed him sitting on the side, and me going 127mph in a 65mph, to which he informed me after he got me stopped!
Tip: Never use the excuse that "you were about to run out of gas, and you were just trying to find a gas station."
Trooper reply: "Sorry, son...but you don't run 127mph on an empty tank, looking for a gas station"!

I had a new trans Am and minding my own business at a red light after midnight, some punk pulled up beside me and challenged me to drag. When the light turned green I put the peddle to the medal and left him behind at 200km/h in less than 10 seconds. Never again, I hate speed and have nothing to prove when driving on a public highway.

In the early '70's, and the muscle cars, it seems many of us built, and drove fast, raced often. Paid many speeding tickets too, just as many accidents claimed lives, and caused very serious injuries. There was one section of road that, for some reason, always needed me to bury the speedometer at 140 mph, or about 225 kph. The only way I'd do it now would be on a race track, and that is of lessons learned, money paid.
