tomcatwarne: And would'nt you consider this a significant difference.
'The only real difference between the various fundamental protestants and the Taliban in the level of enacted violence...so far but as I perceive them all, they are all, indeed'
should have read: is the level of violence.
Violence, whether verbal or physical is the first and last resort of the ignorant and whatever psychosis the group or individual suffers from. It makes no credible difference at all as to the types of violence enacted.

patmac: So those Islamic folk who gunned the people and blew themselve up last week were peaceul?
The Islamic folk who gunned down How many? in Mumbai were peaceful
The young folk who leave the UK to study in Pakistan and return home badly Radicalised have been taught in peaceful Mahdrassees
The multitude of sites on the internet spuoting Hate against Non Muslims (KAFFIRS)
You have let this thread get away from youroriginal point by doing as you always do IGNORING THE POINTS OF THE MAJORITY.
And refusing to acknowledge any of the facts presented to you..

I think Muslim radicalisation in the UK reflects worse on us and our anything-goes society than on Islam itself. If Britain had a culture of its own then maybe these youngster's wouldn't travel around the world searching for something they think has meaning.
patmac: So true in all points, but the ACTUAL amount of direct links to the Mahdrassees of Pakistan in the Radicalisation of young Muslims who have actually taken part in terroerists acts is well documented.
Ant the level of Activity of the Islamic terrorists far exceeds any other sect/Religion.
And yet we are supposed to believe Islam is a peacful religion.
Why then do the "Moderate" majority of Muslims not come out en-masse and denounce the actions of the few Fundamentalists???
And why do we allow the teaching of the very few in Mosques in the UK...Freedom of speech is fine but if we were to do the same against the Muslim folk it would be Considered a Race/Religous crime and we would be arrested ASAP
For proof read about the protest at the High court last week in the case of the lass who stabbed the MP...
I had a cousin that tried for years to get an honest and open answer from the Govt. as a member o the Hose of Lords; she was never given one; perhaps they really did thing of her as 'too radical',(she was on many issues) and this only continues to fester and raise the ire of the British peoples. The PM and the entire judicial branch need to finally come to grips with this reality and inform the public why this deplorable state of affairs continues unabated. If not, I would not be in the least surprised to see 'vigilantism' as a course of action should large enough numbers of people reaching. the point of total exasperation with their own government. Governments are usually the architects of their own demise.

tomcatwarne: Have you been there??
I agree in any country I have visited the ordinary people will be hospitable, and welcome you, I have found many friends in Finland who have helped me, and they are not known to be the most gregarious of people. The ordinary people in any country are people like us as long as you treat them with respect. It's only the radical minority you have to worry about, and you don't really have to come into contact with them unless you seek them out. Nite all.

Britain has many cultures within it's society, and has had for many a long year.
The vast majority of folk have their own religion within this and live peacefully adhearing to their own religious laws and British law.
However, the Muslim commuunity has fractured and a minority want Sharia law and their way of life to be paramount.
This cannot be acceptable on many levels.
But yet the Muslim Majority cannot or will not speak out against this.
But we digress the point is being dragged away from Pakistan and its problems which the OP says do not exist...
And the real point of the thread National Intelligence

I would say if you want Muslim's to be part and proud of Britain, then at the least the British need to be proud of Britain. Which would mean not disrespecting our traditions, values, culture, history and showing a little pride here and there. Earn the respect of the outside world and commitment from those at home, instead of being a cosmopolitan charity case that much of the world laughs at.
Yesss.. back to national intelligence, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
