Ambrose2007: I'm not commitmentphobic, either, but it would require an act of god to make me commit to anyone (perhaps making it an act of Dionysus would improve my chances?).
Nice seeing you Jeff. Hope you are well my friend.
JAN_is: I believe I am. Everything I choose to do I commit myself fully to make it work, whether it´s relationships or work.
To prove my point, I was married for 25 years, then divorced, and remarried a year later, though that turned out to be taking commitment a bit too far as we divorced again after a year!
I don´t like to get things wrong, so I try to put heart and soul in whatever it is I´m trying to achieve. Perhaps that´s not always such a positive thing to do though.
That's one serious commitment, Jan.
Impressed.
I have two friends (a couple) who were married to each-other (and divorced) 3 times. Not a low-life type of people - both educated, very intelligent and gorgeous-looking.
Couldn't live together, could live without each other...
And they had one child in the midst of it all (in a first round of marriage )

scottyburd: Ken
Thats a real nice thing to say, right now a 24/7 relationship frightens the life out of me.. I hope all is well with you..
Good thing about relationships is you can set the pace. Something nice and slow in the beginning so you get use to being around each other and see how weird you both are...

Hiya Laura! Long time since I've been on. Guess I have to say I'm not worried about commitment since I became engaged this past Saturday. Hope everything has been sunshine and roses for ya!

How wonderful!!
The best news I've heard on CS in ages!
Congratulations.
So very happy for you, Woody. For both of you - whoever the lucky lady is.

Laura25: Hmmmm... interesting. It's usually commitmentphobics who are prone to such self-destructive behavior -- walking out on their partner.
Isn't that the truth! Or asking every day if you've changed your mind yet (like they can't see that you're not changing your mind and, on the contrary, are very much enjoying being with them) and due to that not giving their heart to you (what if you DO walk out on them, eh?).
Gosh...the way I see it...if we're afraid of commitment, we're thinking too much about tomorrow. We all know that life is right now. Nothing else is guaranteed. Funny we still do this even though many of us have been through divorces, other loss. All we have is right now and you can only commit in the present tense.
