I believe in reincarnation in the sense we become worm dirt over time and help grow new life. In that sense reincarnation is a fact. However, reincarnation as in our conscious flows to another physical being after we die....no, there is no logical evidence to show that being even remotely true.

lol, well there is no evidence that we were originally spawned from the droppings of a giant pigeon resembling Rosanne Bar crossed with a fish stick. It is a possibility, but I don't believe in that either. Believing in something means you think something is true without knowing it. I will say reincarnation is a possibility, so no, I am not saying never. However, it takes substantial evidence to get me to believe something.
For instance, I do believe in other life forms. Not due to seeing them or proof, but due to the vast size of the known universe, the fact that what life (as we know it) requires to live are the 4 most common elements in the universe (Oxygen, Carbon, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen) and the idea that life can be anything from the little green men to a bacteria.
However, that belief is based on facts, reincarnation has no facts to base itself on despite being a possibility (See pigeon dropping monster for details)

.. i think the best bet for ANYTHING in this life of ours .. and the universe we live in .. is .. KEEP AN OPEN MIND .. hmm? The head in the sand approach is just a cop out ... anything and everything is possible .. the age of discovery is around every corner .. who would have thought 30 years ago such a thing as the World Wide Web was at all possible .. ??? Scratch any surface long enough .. and delve into something deep enough .. and who knows what's there? What's possible? ... Anything & Everything.

Well I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation of a complete personality, almost zero likelyhood. But I want to came back as a pampered cat (feline)

.....so you believe in anything and everything?
I got some bridges to sell you
I do have an open mind, but I really only spend my time entertaining ideas that have some basis to them. That is not keeping your head in the sand. That is taking the middle ground. Believing in everything and anything is the opposite extreme of having your head in the sand. You can not learn and develop as a species not testing things and proving some things right and some things wrong. There is no way to disprove or prove reincarnation, but more importantly, we have no way of even testing the theory, so it is kind of a waste of time. Now string theory is something worth while because we can measure it and design a science behind it to actually learn about it. That is a crazy theory among itself that may change our whole existence. We may find it is true, we may find it false. The difference is is it actually has some backing to show that it is worth looking into.
I do believe that there is an after life, but the theory behind reincarnation is to allow someone a chance to make up for something they had done wrong in their former life. Once this accomplished they are due their final rest.

NO. I SAID ... *anything and everything* is possible. PAY ATTENTION!!! My point simply was: Keep an open mind. CrAzy theories turn can turn into realities ..
My mind has no memories of the past lives, etc. BUT I believe in everything that promises new life after my death instead of hell or oblivion, if it is reincarnation let it be so, if someone invents something else tomorrow, I will gladly believe that too to keep myself in a happy mood.
well, I have been brought up to believe in this ideology even though am a cynic, I do believe. Boy, bt don't want to come back again.....must do something about it:(((

K, and I am saying that the day reincarnation produces any sort of evidence or shows that there is any logic behind it (despite the fact that population grows exponentially should be enough to show that it is a massively flawed theory) I will entertain the idea. Until then, does it not seem like a waste of time?
Perhaps you are right, but it would be like a caveman pondering Nuclear energy. His theory maybe right, but he was not in the place of time to be able to measure or study the theory. He needed to learn from what he could and what was available. He needed to develop written language, math, physics, etc.. before he could test his theory. Just as I am saying, reincarnation is a possibility, but kind of pointless to focus on since even if it is a fact and not a theory, we are incapable at this stage to study or even approach it. My point is, that just because something is a possibility does not make it worth or time. Who knows, string theory maybe the tool we need to prove reincarnation right or wrong.
