Neither, most of the time I wouldn't even notice..
Although I attempt polite behaviour for those that consider it important.I'm the one who forgets to say thank you,or good morning or how are you.I consider small talk an annoyance I have to get past,so the real conversation can begin, when people start being real, rather than making the socially required noises. Words are cheap,I thank by reciprocating some time that which was given/done for me.
really? even after you helped him/her out from a big problem? i know, if you help someone it should be doing with sincerely, but without say thank you?

If I do something for someone and they don't say thank you I just refuse to do anything for them ever.
The only time I do something like this is when the cashier doesn't say thank you for my purchase. That's when I'll say to the cashier, "Oh, excuse me, did you say something". The cashier will say, "I didn't say anything". That's when I'll say....I thought you said thank you. The cashier usually pulls their body into themselves in shame for not saying thank you. I was raised to say thank you and please and it is annoying when people aren't polite. It doesn't matter how young the cashier is, they should be trained that they represent the store and that the store appreciates their business.

no it really doesnt bother me if they say thank you or not even if i helped them out of a huge problem...helping sumone is a big enough reward, like @ Christmas time when i dont get gifts when i gave,...giving feels greater than receiving cause when i get given something i always feel the need to give something back
