Yeah, not perfect. Lots of times it tries to route into gated communities via side access that's blocked or only open to residents with a security sticker.
rob, I cannot say that's entirely true. Many companies have added workers and are producing products round-the-clock where months ago it was only 40 hours per week production.
I heard (yes, hearsay) one manufacturer is now shipping 10 times the volume as normal.
Also, consider that a few garment manufacturing companies have kept their employees working... they are now making cloth (washable) masks instead clothing!
A stay-at-home order (North America) is an order from an authority to restrict movements of population as a mass quarantine strategy for suppressing or mitigating an epidemic or pandemic by ordering residents to stay home except for essential tasks or going to work in essential businesses.
Jim, that is a solution. She's been cutting her son's hair since he was a young boy. My hair grows fast and with 2 months of isolation I should be okay when the salon reopens.
News this weekend has the departments of Justice (DOJ) and Health and Human Services (HHS) task force set up to crack down on coronavirus-related hoarding and price gouging, seized the supplies from Baruch Feldheim, a 43-year-old Brooklyn man arrested on March 30. The material included 130,000 surgical masks, 598,000 medical grade gloves, surgical gowns, disinfectant towels and bottles of hand sanitizer and spray disinfectant.
"Feldheim offered to sell around 1,000 N95 masks and other materials to a New Jersey doctor for $12,000, which federal authorities said was approximately a 700 percent markup over the normal prices. Investigators said Feldheim told the doctor he could pick up the materials at an auto repair shop in Irvington, New Jersey. The doctor told investigators the auto repair shop contained enough materials, including hand sanitizers, antiseptic wipes and surgical supplies, to outfit an entire hospital."
As far as how to wear them correctly... instructions come with every package. the American government should be proactive and (if not already) do Public Service Announcements (PSA's) for awareness and instruction.
America is now the world leader in coronavirus infections. That's not a status to be proud of. We should all be wearing masks, avoiding social interaction, wearing gloves, disinfecting phones, keyboards, doorknobs and anything we are likely to touch that could be contaminated. Do it as though your life depended on it.
It's my opinion that EVERYONE in public should be wearing some form of mask. Take the example how it's standard practice in China as highly populated areas control giving/getting colds/flu in general.
Viv, thankfully, I buy mega-roll packs of toilet paper that lasts 6-8 weeks. This is normal for me and hoarding isn't required.
Jenny, thoughts of customers waiting at 3am is frightening. I know my local Walmart normally restocks with a night crew at 10pm. Now with limited hours that may change to after the store closes. They would bring everything out on pallets with shrink wrap and lately customers break the wrapping, pull open boxes to get to products. It's too much for the employees to control.
Jim, he did tell me what he wanted. That's how I came up with the design.
This was a feature area at the top of the stairs with mirror and decorative things around it. Only the credenza was in my scope. He needed to tie-in the other decorative pieces. That's when he contracted with the furniture store to do that area and other parts of the apartment.
My part got cut out of the deal. After, I heard he complained to the other trades and didn't pay all of his subcontractors. So, it was better for me not doing the work.
I've been approached by a small company to do some sales and freelance project management AFTER the virus subsides. Much of the work can be done online from home.
My plan is to pick & choose the projects and not have to keep at 50+ hour a week schedule like I did at the other company.
nam, on a small scale, I feel your pain. On a trip to the bank yesterday. I pulled out the card from my wallet and everything else (cellphone, keys, wallet) remained in the car. Waited until no one was in line at the ATM. Put a few drops of alcohol on my hands, walked up to the machine and rubbed in the keypad while my fingers were wet. After the transaction, I held the receipt sideways between my fingers and the same with the opposite hand when removing my card. Back to the car, I dropped everything on the floor, did the alcohol swabbing again and cleaned the card with a tissue moistened in alcohol. Life has changed.
I considered a coronavirus vigil but I was overtaken by sleep.
During the night daears crawled out of the woodwork after a 3 week hibernation to swipe one of my blogs with a hate filled message. Too bad he's incapable of contributing something worthwhile as a member here.
Google Maps...
