RE: Oily, Dripping Contempt from Pfizer CEO

One question Mic, suppose you need to have some surgery carried out at your local mayo hospital, how keen would you be knowing the Dr's and nurses had not been vaccinated against a virus that can kill those with low immunity, especially after an invasive surgical procedure?

Personally, I would rather know my chances of survival are increased knowing all staff around me were fully vaccinated, I think you would too.
Just saying!

RE: Oily, Dripping Contempt from Pfizer CEO

At a recent conference I attended, most of the attendees were Professors in education, I am sure not one was unvaccinated, in fact, we actually discussed the importance of all educational staff being vaccinated to ensure a safe environment for students.

Maybe Europeans are more knowledgeable regarding covid and vaccines than our American colleagues?

RE: Shared Wisdom

Not to nitpick but it is NOT an idiom, it is an adage.

adage
a proverb or short statement expressing a general truth.
noun
it is vital for every pilot to remember the old adage ‘safety first’: saying, maxim, axiom, proverb, aphorism, saw, dictum, precept, epigram, epigraph, motto, truism, platitude, cliché, commonplace; words of wisdom, pearls of wisdom; expression, phrase, formula, slogan, quotation; rare apophthegm, gnome.

idiom
noun

a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g. every cloud has a silver lining ).

But you already knew that of course.

Britain must be punished for Brexit, says France

Rob, if you read my posts I only ever speak out against those who make personnel comments to me first.

But thank you for your comment, it is appreciated.

What about all your lies CR ? when will you delete those?

RE: More about disused railway tunnels

I read a report about secret tunnels being found in Tintern, that were actually large drains built for the wire manufacturing carried out there and forgotten rather than secret. So disappointing.

RE: Shared Wisdom

I remember being punished at school for picking out all the raisins in a rice pudding one lunchtime.

A true rice pudding does not need anything added other than the basic ingredients.

RE: More about disused railway tunnels

So are some of the tunnels in Cinque Terre, believe me, dark dank water running down the walls. They are the only tunnels I can recall where you need to use your windshield wipers when driving through.

RE: Shared Wisdom

If I can add one more, at your discretion.

It doesn't matter how much truth you write, there will always be those who will say it is all lies.

RE: More about disused railway tunnels

this is well worth the trip Cinque Terre, Italy

RE: The Truth About Pumpkins

Some useless information:- a possible answer to which came first the fruit orange or the colour orange.

"It’s thought that the orange fruit originally came from China – the German word Apfelsine and the Dutch sinaasappel (Chinese apple) reflect this. Historians believe the fruit made its way to Europe either by Italian traders or Portuguese navigators around 1500. In fact, ‘China apple’ is still a synonym for orange in a number of languages, including Dutch and Ukrainian.

Before orange (the fruit) made its way from China to Europe, yellow-red was called simply that: yellow-red, or even just red.

The English word ‘orange’, to describe the colour, ultimately comes from the Sanskrit term for the orange tree: nara?ga. It’s thought that early Persian emperors collected exotic trees for their gardens, which likely included orange trees. Arabs later traded the fruit and spread the word all the way to Spain; the Spanish word for orange is naranja. In Old French, the fruit became orenge, and this was adopted into English, eventually becoming ‘orange’, to describe the fruit as well as the colour.

Oranges beat the likes of pumpkins and carrots to name the shade of the colour itself. This most likely has to do with timing. Pumpkins weren’t discovered until later, and carrots didn’t become orange until the 16th century when Dutch farmers bred them that way. Before that, they were various other colours, including yellow, white, purple, and red, but rarely orange.

Today, orange trees have become the most commonly grown fruit trees in the world. It’s a popular crop from the Far East to the Mediterranean area. However, Florida, in the United States, leads in world production of the fruit, having an annual yield of more than 200 million boxes."

Britain must be punished for Brexit, says France

Another one who judges a book by the cover.

As it happens, I left Kenya to get educated in the UK, so nothing whatsoever with it being tough.

Britain must be punished for Brexit, says France

Can you explain that in English?

Where did I say the UK will go down with the US?

The UK has a sovereign currency, namely the UK sterling and as such has no interest in the Euro.

In all your waffle you forgot to mention that we (UK) voted to join the Common Market, not an EU, but some lame PM decided without any input from the UK's population to agree to the EU.

The Blair administration then handed all the UK's power to the EU commission on a false promise he would be made the first EU president.

As far as I can see the EU is just a way to put more money and power into Germany/France. The very fact the EU is trying to destroy the UK for daring to leave is reason enough for the rest to leave.

RE: Leftist ot Liberal?

Indeed Har, but when someone makes a judgement based on a book's cover, it just highlights their own agenda and indicates how narrow minded some aredunno

RE: Windows 11

If I'm honest I'm somewhat disappointed with macOS Monterey, and was forced to downgrade back to Big Sur.

Many apps failed to work especially torrent software.

Apparently, so many software engineers are on loan to MS to fix Win 11 they have had to postpone Monterey Betas and only developers are able to run it.

But Watch OS 8.3 is amazing

RE: Leftist ot Liberal?

"A nation of immigrants demands an American psyche, a mercenary spirit plastered together by greed."

Why?

The UK was built upon a foundation of immigrants, in what way does the UK need to emulate a nation that is still in its infancy?

RE: Leftist ot Liberal?

Anyone who dares to disagree with a hard right political bias is instantly given the title "Liberal, leftest" without any consideration for those with more centralistic opinions, left of right.

The Hard Right has made a big deal out of splitting the US to enable categorizing people.

Thankfully more mature nations understand that to disagree with a countries leader does not necessarily make them an opposition member.

Dr Judy Mikovits is a discredited scientist who has been proven to lie and fake research.

Why am I wrong? She was discredited and sacked for trying to falsify a report, as for Fauci, I have no idea, but as of now no credible evidence has been published discrediting him with any lies or falsifying reports.

If any reports are published proving Fauci to have misled/lied/falsified reports you can be sure that I will post them.

RE: China Will Do Anything to Deflect Coronavirus Blame

Exactly Red, as more is learnt about this virus so many countries are releasing more and more info regarded illness that went undetected but corresponds with Covid symptoms back even as far as 2018.

So it is impossible at this time to make a definitive statement that it originated in China.

Dr Judy Mikovits is a discredited scientist who has been proven to lie and fake research.

I wonder why those who are so vehemently against getting vaccinated, can ONLY find "evidence" in sites known to lie, produce fake stories and have an agenda to spread propaganda.

It would be more believable if they sourced their "facts" from more established credible sources, but I guess that would mean admitting they were wrong in the first place.

Quoting Discredited scientists, Doctors and pseudoscientists only prove they are following an agenda to falsify facts and create diversion within nations.
