Soc, you can copy and paste every article concerning Trumps statement, but that will not change the minds of many. First of all, my position on Trump is that he as I have documented prior is a narcissist. What degree I don't know since the last time I met him was over 20 years ago. But, all that aside, Trumps proposal of a ban was a temporary ban knowing that the vetting process in the USA is deplorable. One of the major problems here is that these refugees have no state that we can go back on to verify anything about them....so we're at best shooting in the dark. What's the answer to this dilemma? Nobody knows. But I speak for many Americans that we want proper identification and verification for ANYONE who crosses our borders. Do we do a good job at that? The answer is of course not ie:Mexico...

Well lets look at it from the point of view of the people who were right. Right equal safe. In a very basic level, then, in order to be safe we have to be right. Being right means physical and social survival. It also means emotional survival.
It gets tied up with that most important emotional need: self-esteem. If we're right we get to feel good about ourselves. If we're wrong we get to feel bad about ourselves. Since feeling good about ourselves has a lot to do with survival-in the sense that people who feel good about themselves have happier and possibly longer lives-being right takes on deepened importance.
So, saying I told you so reaffirms their beliefs of safety and restores their self esteem.......jmo
Joy, your assessments of the narcissist is off base. Yes, we all have narcissistic tendencies and that is acceptable. But, the malignant narcissist is extreme and basically evil. They use their pathological lies to control and manipulate. Pathological lying is the opposite of normal. I will repeat that: pathological lying is the opposite of normal! It is irrelevant that researchers have discovered evidence that everyone lies in one way or another. Not only are most lies damaging, psychopathic lies are beyond the scope of what most people can even imagine when they think about lying. When someone lies habitually, that behavior pattern is always connected to other extremely disturbing traits and behaviors.
Lying is like breathing for narcissists, and they use it as a manipulation tool.
