Hi Scouse long time :-) how are you ? just dropping to say hi to you I daren't comment against my own gender I work all day mostly with women too ... I wonder what it would be like to be surrounded by male colleagues all day would I be saying the same thing about men as you are about women ? it would be a good experiment
indeed Spring is a beautiful season --although here in Ireland it can be erratic to say the least ! --we had hailstones in April here during our last spring ! Your garden sounds wonderful Abagail --enjoy the sights and the "scentual " perfumes !
well I say there are 2 key words in relation to this
honesty and communication
Always be honest about what you want / need right from the beginning - then there can be no confusion . Communication is vital --talk it out - compromise - work at it -don't let something special go without trying --but as you say , if there are aspects of a person's nature that does not sit well , and can't be worked through , then ,perhaps it's just not meant to be
you could tell him on his birthday that you want to get him the season tickets when they become available - he will be delighted Now , you have me wrecking my brain now about my own daddy's birthday present in December --he was talking about taking up fishing again whenever he would retire --he's 75 almost and he's still working !! albeit partime -so maybe some new fishing gear --I gotta get my thinking cap on now goodnight Cat
well I am sure he is very proud of all his family Cat
and besides , the season ticket thing is a marvellous idea - I take it the season begins in 2014 -- of you think he would love that -it will give him something to look forward to -sorted ! Whatever you all decide -I hope your dad has a wonderful special day - chat soon Chat and I send you my best wishes as always -
when dad looks around --I meant to say " living room " oops yes indeed Cat --it is difficult no doubt to decide on something special . I'm the same - daddy used to smoke many years ago -and we used to buy him really good quality cigars -then he quit smoking ! But my guess is your dad just wants you all around him on his special day - As welela said the best gift you can give anyone ,is your time Does your dad like to go out for dinner ? maybe you could all go out for a fancy dinner The photo of your dad is wonderful too Cat --my goodness , he really does look in good health I am sure you are very proud of him
I know your predicament here very well My own father will be 75 soon --drives every day -walks a lot to keep fit and is fiercely independent . But every birthday and Christmas we have the same quandary - what to buy him he has everything he needs ! My father's answer to this is always the same -"I want you all with me on my birthday " --he just wants time for us all to be together as all of us are quite spread out --and so on his birthday all of us make arrangements to get off work and travel to him --the look on his face when he looks around the living and sees us all is pure joy . Having said that , I always buy him a very expensive bottle of whiskey too as he is partial to a glass from time to time
I am recovering quite well now and am getting stronger as each week goes by . My family are doing good thankyou . I am so glad to know all is well with you and all those you hold dear . Give your beautiful granddaughter a hug from me
Hello Simmo good to see you posting , and keeping an ever protective eye on those who unjustly attack us -so thankyou Hope all is well with you and your beautiful family .
I missed your acknowledgement Cat , as the blog is now deleted- no worries - and thankyou I'm glad that you are glad to be back Have a lovely evening with your friends and congrats on your wonderful recovery
Cat , great to see you back Myself and Delatude were speaking of you yesterday and wondering how you are . Wonderful to know you are in good health --I send you my warm regards Cat
I beg your pardon ... 2 different people -one male one female - I am irish , he is American -his name is different Serendipity ! I am Serenity Here endeth the lesson for today Patrick
if you boys will "excuse me " , I'm away to my snuggle under my quilt now Thankyou Patrick --your blog was great fun --great play on words indeed Goodnight all
it's not like me to make an error re grammar - please "excuse me " I do actually have "A" grade passes in A'level and O'level English ... so " sorry " --I hope you will "excuse me "
it's enough to say sorry when we say or do something wrong-but why we say it so often outside of those instances , I have no idea "sorry" Patrick , but from now on , i'm gonna say more "excuse me" 's than " sorry " from now on
@l... s...k there is no need to be aggressive with your remark to Delatude.. everyone can put their point across on the blogs without making personal attacks or name calling :scold Take care now , and have fun with your L... s...K
hello Jenny , it is so lovely to see you here -hope all is going well for you This is a wonderful love story -each of them putting the other first and being totally selfless
yes there are those who had luck / fate / angels on their side at any given moment -who even after a traumatic accident can come out with barely a scratch or bruise ! it's incredible most are not so "lucky " but I am so glad your friend survived this traumatic event
RE: In The Pound Seats Again!
I hate to burst your bubble dear man
yep . I was asked for all those details too ...
but like ,,, what would we do if we had all that money Cat ?
Sure we might loose the run of ourselves completely and go silly
