My other great experience was to see the dolphins in their natural environment and be able to touch them.

Anyway, what has suddenly prompted this post, may I ask? Are you in love with someone living on the other side of the planet?

I also agree with some of the comments here that if you have found the "Love of your Life", why not go for it?
Life is too short! Your kids have grown and have a life of their own, so why not making your own life a happy one for the time you have left over...?
Now, as far as compromises are concerned, if both partners want to compromise in making some commitment, why not meet half way? You could meet in the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific ocean on some island, for example, and make it your own little Paradise?
