You feel proud to be an atheist because you feel you are in charge of your destiny not a god. But that is a shaky claim because it is not you but your mind and body, the in charge. Usually it is seen that atheists follow science. Do you?
"How to be free" implies that it is pre-taken feeling that you aspire to be free....you only know better if I evaluated correctly. Second thing related to the first is that you desire to be free but restrict yourself because you may hurt others in the process. Knowing your views regarding the above mentioned facts I can offer my advice or suggestion only after that.
@loulou but it should be convincingly ascertained if he acted in self defense or because of the malice, without the prejudice of the crime record of the deceased. That is utterly demanded to investigate the motive of the killer. o.k. if he really did so in the self defense.
@Z Would you please research the crime records...if the award of death penalties decrease the crime rate compared from where there exist no death penalties....are you interested in singly this case or what follows after....I only side with the reason....and the suitable measures, whatever...if the mishap curbed by this punishment or that punishment...the purpose is to stop it.
@furry you want him to suffer more...but by the death penalty his sufferings are quite lessened. he is relieved of all pains within seconds....and if he is jailed for the whole life, his sufferings are multiplied...then he dies each day. just compare the two situations...I am considering your view-point only.
@loulou just explain what sort of malice he had....but here the case becomes suspicious....though I don't know abc of this case...please throw some light.
