My concern with women getting political is that you demand equality without considering properly what equality even is or the added responsibility that comes with such emPOWERment. It's just one great big cry of Gimmedat! Or so it seems. I believe that if it was left to the women you would rather live equally in a miserable world that doesn't work than be unequal in a proud world that works... At least until the debt bubble bursts and things get tough - which is why many younger millennial women are rediscovering a sense for tradition and gender role.
Anyway, feminists remind of the loser end of socialists: those that would rather everyone lived in decrepit poverty than for there to be a gap between rich and poor.
Obs, +I do feel the direction of your frustration on such a move. But first, whether you like it or not, it is the road that is already paved deep for women to embrace.
Let's face it, your premise on the equality of both miserable and or successful society has nothing to do with this blog.
My point being is that we have progressed and that is through the effort of men and women and the whole society to nourish its growth.
While it is very sad to know that a man like you seem to oppose such a inevitable consequence, I believe you are too focused on your limitations than the possibility of dancing with the music where it doesn't matter whether it is led by either you or me.
Ian a very interesting story. Only you can decide and determine its benefit on such an encounter. You seem to be of great awe at the coincidences. Well if it serves you well, listen, and if not then trust your guts and instincts. But let it not rule your moments and use it as a guide when you feel compelled to do it.

Like GG and Molly said, stick around and find it out yourself. I have been a member for the last three and a half years and the best part of my life was truly found here. The most beautiful moments and most remarkable accounts of my short life was and is here.
But the difference for me was that I wasn't truly looking as after being beautifully married for 28 years with a great man, I decided to live all by myself. I joined, very hesitantly, through a friend of mine for 40 years, this dating site only for the writings and poetry. (We used to post on another site but rules were so rigid and didn't like it.) And very explicitly said it on my profile and blocked all the peoples in the world but guess what just when I didn't expect, a fellow poet, who wasn't also looking found me, and we had the best of the best love, in my whole life. While it ended for reasons I wont cover here, I am still here and now met another great person that makes my daily life filled with beauty and hopes and happiness.
So we all find what we seek even when we are not looking and with your beauty and no nonsense presentation of yourself, you will, I am sure, find someone that just might fit your aspirations..

I'm here in a place where 'equality' is such an alien word and we consider this place as a 'men's world' where educated women who are more than capable of providing and surviving on her own are suppressed and kept at home. With some exceptions, they generally just exist to bear children and to satisfy their husbands. So sad but life is never fair...angel
Yes ading. It is said and I do feel your just cause of claiming that life isn't fair. I can only hope that the world as a whole will recognize such a formidable step towards this direction. It only fosters success and triumph on the move towards a true practice of equality..
Like Luke mentioned, it is a united effort of not me nor you but the whole humanity, from every child to adult and we must do it with fervor and unity.
I think the idea of women not needing men scared the pants off some men...perhaps that is why there is so much resistance for equality in the past?...just a thought!!! Fortunately, there are enough liberal minded men who see value in women and their work...and who helped forge a better society...we all need each other.
I have no doubt about it. This is the most isolated reasons I can think of even before there was such a move towards this cause.

Yes indeed, if we are truly looking at the ratio as to the number of employed women against that of the men, you'd be surprise to find out that the median is slowly narrowed down to a very slim and acceptable level.
I have not look at the latest but even as America holds the disparity of income inequality, it is because men still holds more jobs than women in the real sense, but in the fields where women were never seen before we are progressing very rapidly. Car business for instance where it was so dominated by men, most manufacturers specially the big 3 has hired more women in the last 15 years than ever before.
If you look at the animal kingdom You will see Male and female of a species with very different rolls. This is not to say that in the game of survival they are unequal, only that they need do them to ensure the most economical way to ensure a future. If we take this premise and apply it to humanity we see that our super skills of evolved environmental manipulation have taken us to a point where we believe these gender roles no longer necessary.
I have to go back with you Non as you raised a very fundamental aspect of the root of this progress. While I will never disagree that there are indeed roles inherently assigned to us since the inception or our creation, i.e. bearing babies, to that of the women and the strength of protection to that of the men, it is very inevitable that without discrediting this innate core of our nature, we have set it aside and moved on to the areas of equal ability and that is the nature of intellectual, compassion, instincts, kindness and generosity.
Much like the same way as to the deliberate effort of each gender to excel in such a general and or specific fields.
These is a signature of the same level of acceptance a society is inclined to achieved..A progress beyond measure.
