Yes religion is a powerful tool that has helped many a man in their search for what they believe in just as much as the influence on so many brutal acts are accounted for.

The Ten Commandments to me is a very good example of what a good community we can all be if we truly observe and practice the essence of the belief and principle it fosters.
However, in the barbaric origin of this uncivilized world, religion came to cement people's trust, respect, belief and love for each other. I can't emphasize enough that had my pagan ways of life would have succeeded in rising above Christianity, WE WOULD STILL BE BEHEADING OTHER PEOPLE WHO BELONG TO ANOTHER TRIBE. And I thank God and my ancestors for having submitted to the more civilized ways of life brought by the pilgrims.
In closing, religion or belief is not the problem. It is the very basic lack of respect and unity among people and go to the extreme and claim God as the source of anything for the killing and other brutal infliction of injury. All for power and greed.
That's my biggest point Lou. If by God, I earned them right to feel safe and it is compromised what kind of law is there that is subjeto an instinctive notion?

I totally agree with you Lou. If and when the law provides our protection ad the first act of the violation come to us, who are we to know what is and not to kill you?

Lou, yes, I don't want anyone to define what is safe for me. I am in my peaceful abode. Very settled with the protection of the law given me. Why should anyone tell me how I feel when I am threatened or not. They came into my house. How can I differentiate the level of danger for me to protect myself?
Yes I kind of remember that Lou but for the life of me, I truly don't know what happened, but this is what makes me confident Lou that the number of innocent going even into trial perhaps will be completely eliminated because of the effective way of producing forcible evidence.

I am too, very torn on this one Ed. Here if I were living all by myself or even with someone but here is an intruder and not knowing what he is capable with including harming and killing me, why not?

Ito! thanks. Our law is very specific subject to how you feel when you are threatened. It does say: You have the right to kill for your defense and severe bodily threatened. Now who will measure your level of threat?
Now that maybe the case Candy, but check this out. Here is a perfectly peaceful man living in his house with a license gun for his protection, now just because the age is an issue that make it any different? Now should we set aside laws for young kids then? Yet they are perfectly capable of such a crime?
