I think we should all get together and cough up the cost of getting Redex ordained. She's really into this sort of stuff, as those of you who read her blogs will know. Oh and into this stuff as well... so would be right at home with the CS congregation.
To be fair here... I must admit that I was quite surprised to see that this site is fully accessible to the general public, insofar reading blogs, forums etc and viewing members profiles, without actually having to be a site member and sign in to do so.
I don't know why this is. Maybe it's to encourage people to join the site?
Personally, I don't have a problem with non-members viewing my profile, nor do I consider them "spies" or "cowards". Neither is it a bad thing that non-members can view the site "warts and all" to see if it's really worth joining.
Just think of a Megabyte as a page of writing. At 3 megabytes per second (Mbs) you are downloading 3 pages in 1 second. Now, with a fibre connection, you are downloading 150 pages per second. So yes, your computer is much faster at downloading data, including streaming movies etc without buffering pauses.
For example, a clock dial is a meter, an instrument that shows measurement of time.
A metre on the other hand, is a metric measure of the distance between two end points.
Forgive poor old Aa and remember that the metric system is way too hard for simple Americans to understand, hence they cling to imperial pounds and inches, heh heh.
It's great that this polyp was found, as they if not cancerous, are often pre-cancerous.
I'm knee-deep in anti-cancer research, including on colon cancer and if you care to PM me, I have interesting and positive news for you about current research developments.
Like everyone else here, I wish you the best for this "stitch in time" op and a speedy recovery.
Bit of a ritual really. A nice creamy coffee made, then surf the news/business & current affairs sites, then onto CS for some intellectual stimulation....
Otherwise, I'm only on here if I'm chatting to one of the lovely CS maidens....
I like to think of doctors as "Body Mechanics". How often do you take your car in for a road-worthiness check and the mechanic picks up a problem with it that you were totally unaware of?
And yes... we are what we eat, so a healthy balanced diet does promote good health.
My personal band-wagon is the avoidance of unsaturated fats, sticking to readily digestible saturated fats where I can, but I do limit intake of all fats and eat plenty of raw and cooked vegetables.
I also fast. Meaning, I don't eat unless I'm hungry and even then, never eat more than I actually need to.
I can understand where your friend is coming from, but a check now and then by your "body mechanic" is good insurance.... yes?
Let's not forget there's such a thing as "Justifiable Anger". You know... when someone treats you, or others, in a totally undeserved way for example.
Normally I don't react, but instead just think the issue through. It's the provoker that has the problem, not you. Trading punches won't solve a thing, lol.
There's the regular provoker of anger who you just get out of your life and avoid all contact. Then there are the souls that are just having a bad day and behaving totally out of character, who we should be able to defuse things with, with maybe a light-hearted retort and a smile.
When somones been drinking and angry with it, run, don't walk, from the situation.
Interestingly, my desktop running Windoze 7 OS and Malwarebytes Premium for security, completely refused to instal those Microsoft March updates & patches. Eventually I used a back-door method to instal them.
Southwest 20 knots, turning southeast 15 knots Friday evening. Moderate sea easing. Southwest swell 3 metres. Fair visibility in a few showers. Three Day Outlook
A southwest flow over New Zealand eases on Friday as a ridge of high pressure moves onto the country. A front approaches the western South Island on Monday.
RE: "JUST THE USA?"
What can be so bad about a country that gave the world McDonalds & Kentucky Fried?
