That is the same as prediciting a soccer team to win by 8 goals, happens once or twice a decade. Predicting that an underdog will win by that amount is laughable. Dublin are no great shakes, but only Kerry, Tyrone or Cork could regularly beat Dublin by a wide margin. The Meath game was a bit of an anomaly. They are of a pretty similar standard at the minute.
The observer gave it a great review today. Total Film and Empire give it 5 stars too.
I think it is a sci-fi classic. It needs to watched with great attention and dopey/dozy types will suffer, but it is a great film.
As per Nolan's wishes, I am not going to give too much of an in-depth review. You need to watch it knowing very little of the plot in advance, the way it should be for all films really.
Sunday Independent today noted that some senior Meath players felt that since they did not get a replay against Dublin in the 2007 final (wrongly disallowed Geraghty goal, wrongly allowed Brogan goal) that they saw no reason to give a replay this time.
I already am aware of the differences but I just prefer Slash. Malmsteem and lots of others are not what I like. I see that style as a bit self-indulgent.
Axl has to get 2-3 people to replace Slash in the new GnR. Slash does not do solos for the sake of solos. A lot of guitarists have self-indulgent solos, Slash knows how to create great songs.
Is it not pretty obvious after nearly 30 pages though?
On a different note...I think that a general chat thread here would be worthwhile to eliminate the thread hijacks and whatnot. Sort of like the CS Lounge!
Forget that...see it at all costs! Better off without somebody beside you annoying you! Well I did not watch it on my own...but if it comes to a choice between seeing it alone and not seeing it, just go!
I'll go see it again next week, it warrants multiple viewings
Between United and Chelsea for the league. Arsenal will be very close too. I'd be surprised if City challenged. Too much money wasted on average players. Yaya Toure is poor and on 200 grand a week. Bound to cause problems in the dressing room.
I may call it a night...need some beauty sleep before I hit the library tomorrow! I think myself and passion have easily won the contest tonight. The girls were too busy whispering sweet nothings in each others ears (and elsewhere!)
RE: Open mind please
My mind is telling a pretty awesome story right now
