Sorry to hear that. I haven't had a boyfriend die, but a close male friend. We were tubing down a mountain with a bunch of other young people and my friends were heading toward a tree. Most jumped to one side, but Tim jumped on the other side and hit his head on a rock and was killed. His girlfriend, my close friend, held him as he was dying. It is never easy. You cry, and try to get through the day the best you can.
I do believe that the jews were the chosen people, but god still loves all of his creation. God made a promise to Abraham before Ishmael was born that his wife Sarah would bear many children and a covenant would be made with them. If you also notice from the text below that Ishmael was also blessed. Part of the problem whas that Ishmael was the first born, but Issac was the child of Abraham's wife.
Jacob dreamed of a ladder: Genesis 28:13 "And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; " Gen 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 17: 18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!" 19 But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year."
So both Arabs and Jews have been blessed, so when the jews say they are God's chosen people it is because of the covenant. Its ok with me, even if I am a gentile.
