Oooohh... WHY? What have we done to you Woofy boy, that you remove your photo? Is this some sort of Mens Secret Society that you have joined? Is it because you are all getting jealous of our Female Witches Society? .. and you think you gotta be equal so you got this idea to go anonymous?

But anyway, thank you SO much for satisfying my huge curiosity, and I promise to not let this new found knowledge seep down into anonymous obscurity in my infinite memory......

Now, Woofy, you may go off, on your paddleski, and try to find that guy who is lost in Iceland somewhere, and hopefully you will find him before he drowns in the Global Meltdown..... He does have a photo posted, so that when you find him, you will be able to recognise him.

Marguerite.... this is a church .. not a Church. I do realise that the very name is enough to send witches scurrying off into the night to find a safe cave to hide out in...... But what other sort of name could one come up with?

This is a gathering for like-minded people.... people who love the Earth, the Sun, and all living things are our brothers and sisters.

Maybe we could liken ourselves to the now nearly extinct tribe of indigenous folk who used to roam over the earth... in the days before Religion was Taught to them? People who respected the Earth and payed homage to what fed them.

The "play" on the selling of alcohol, the massive collections of money, the greed, superciliousness, snobbishness... well, thats just to take the mickey out of the Religious Churches.

This church is religious about people, the planet, and all living things.... be they two legged beings, four legged beings, or green beings.

In one of the modern apartment blocks in this village, I discovered, from peeping thru the windows during its construction, that the bathrooms have full length glass windows!... floor to ceiling height! The glass is only faintly tinted and speckled......Now thats what I call living on the edge.... GOT to remember to close the blinds.

When I see a few rows of plastic chairs lined up on the lawn, and popcorn being served......Some intrepreneur has moved to town....! Could it be Picky One?

Hi Picky, welcome... There is no such thing as a good or a bad witch, so dont let anyone ever tell you otherwise. We just wonderful people... and everyone is afraid of us, which can be a good thing. And the other realy wonderful thing about being a Witch on CS, and especially here at Cyba's Pub, is that the guys sometimes think they can Hi-jack our brooms and go flying!! Last year that guy Funoldie, or as he calls himself sometimes, KK, took my broom and tried to fly it off the roof and lost his pants on his way down.
Wedward has learnt not to mess with us, in fact he seems to like Witches.... he is quite adicted to our Gnomes as you will see from his constant referring to them and their pointy hats (ph's he calls them)
Now that you are a Fully Fledged Member of the AA Witches Flying Class, we can now drink as much as we like, cause all we got to do is fetch our brooms ( I found that keeping them on the roof is good idea, cause then these silly people who think they can fly, think they gotta take off from there, and its realy fun to watch them), using our magical powers, our brooms fly to us, and we simply take off! No more drunken driving! or waiting at stop signs, or weaving thru the traffic.

Freeze is also one of our members, when she has her annual break from serving drinks on her cruise ship, then she joins us here most nights... right now I do believe she assisting people to get drunk in the Disco on the ship.

Wow, thanks Solitare, for your input. I am flattered you took the time to post some of your ideas. We all do these sorts of things, and then somewhere along the line we pick up a new idea, and lots of small things help to make a big difference.


Polystyrene is a pain. Nobody wants it. Last year, in desperation, I garnered the kids into helping and spent a couple days breaking the TV's packaging into small pieces, and made a Bean Bag.... worked well, still got it!
I am seeing some companies are using alternate "recycled paper" packaging, like the stuff egg boxes are made of, so when having a choice of TV, Radio, Fridge, etc... maybe enquiring into what sort of packaging is used, and choosing the Non-polystyrene packaged product, will impress on the manufacturers that they got to go an alternate route too?

I afraid that, because we are all friends, sometimes (I) have to say something personal to the person who posted last, and take the opportunity.... Or else it would mean either sending a seperate special email. Or, like some people, beginning an Entire New Thread, just to say some small thing.

Hi Darl, Hey we gotta be more careful now you know.... There are people objecting to Changing the Subject on Threads! I think they are aspiring Politicians or something... or else they just got out of bed on the wrong side, or having a bad hair day..?

But back to our personal discussion here.... I am cooking Giant Earthworms, to feed the hungry farmers, who are getting confused with the weather.... they thought they had better start ploughing the land because of all the sunshine instead of snow, but now they just sitting and watching the blossoms falling off the fruit trees, while the bees are sort of stumbling around blindly, probably thinking its time to start polinating things... and wondering why the heck its frosty in the mornings... and their wings are not working so good, so they falling on the ground.

But, before I get my photo slapped again... I better get off this thread, and behave myself.

Hi Freeze! Isnt it nice to work for a Good Company who take their responsibilities serious?

Shops are just so full of consumer stuff, so its important to educate ourselves about what we use.

Did you know, for instance, that most cleaning materials are made from either Bicarbonate of Soda, or Vinegar? I am not a Chemist so hope someone more qualified will increase my knowledge here....

I discovered that ordinary Vinegar acts as an excellent de-Kalker on shower tiles and other places where water builds up that rough sort of calcium deposit. (In CH we got SO much kalk in the water supply)

Bicarbonate of Soda.... its a deoderiser, whitener, cleaner.

I have also found one shop that takes back ALL containers of foodstuffs bought from them... from milk cartons, icecream containers, egg boxes, to wooden boxes, etc etc.

Go to my profile, and check out my age. I am retired. I have loads of free time. I muck about the house and garden all day. During my 24 daily hours I manage to fit in a lot of fun too.

Sure I spend time on the internet, as a brain relief from doing my serious writing. I also spend time out in the real world.

Do I have to answer to you? No I dont, but I do, because you are, for now anyway, a young person, and my experience of youth is that they can be realy dumb sometimes.

So, my dear, concentrate on Yourself, while I concentrate on Myself. And should you ever make utterances that tickle my imagination, I shall probably post a reply.

its either Oom Trichardt, or just Trichardt. But I forgot I dealing with Foreigners here, so you guys use the full name, spelt correctly .. Louis Trichardt. The New Government is busy changing all old Afrikaans named towns now anyway... so this one is becoming something that sounds like Tetselongwane, named after the first qualified Herder of Cattle in the District, whose grandson is now the Town Treasurer.

I come from a country where the people have this faith in "Discussions", and nothing ever actually gets done.... they just Talk and Talk about the problems.

The Answer, as I see it, is to Actually Do Something, not talk.

Everyone expects someone else to Do the Doing.

People can begin by, for example, stop buying New Clothes, New Paper, Aerosols, goods in Packaging. To actually try alternative forms of transport, other than their autos. To make a commitment to do some walking when distances are not too great. To ACTUALLY not use too much water, or heating, or electricity.

There are millions of things people can DO... they just got to DO them.

Instead of taking a luxury holiday.... go visit a 3rd world country and see what can be done there.

INSIST on your local Politicians giving up their excessive travelling, and make them concentrate on LOCAL issues.

Well, we got to be practical here..... WHO can afford to sit at home for one whole week? The rent/bond has to be paid, food has to be bought, commitments have to be met.... and the Boss aint gonna be sympathetic to any causes influencing his bank account negatively.

Much careful thought has to go into this subject.... One cannot get hysterical about it. I do believe here in the EU everyone co-operates....its the other countries who need the Big Shake-up!

Like Nigeria at the moment....the land is covered in Crude Oil Seepages.

There are people getting rich disposing of Toxic Waste into little secret corners of the earth...

And something else..... The Planet is OVERCROWDED.
Think about this for a moment....When One Species overpopulates it upsets the ecological balance........? What can be done about the Human Race?

There are those people who are still in the "Reptile" stage of development, and cannot seem to help themselves when it comes to using people.
As Yami says...Never feel bad when you dont receive back what you have given. There is an old saying "You are only as rich as what you give away"... and you gave something of yourself.... And also, The Wheel has a Way of Turning.... It will all come back to you one day.

Someone once wrote me a poem, when a similar thing happened to me, I dont remember the exact words but the gist of it was.....

A piece of Pottery gets broken, and the Master Potter repairs it. Each time this piece of Pottery gets broken by carelessness, it breaks again.... but never in the repaired parts. The unbroken pieces break.... until eventually its been broken so many times, and repaired so many times... that it is stronger than it ever was before.

It is now time to take charge of our environment, in our homes, workplace, neighborhood... in a widening circle, like a ripple.

WHAT are you all doing to help, in whatever way you can, to give assistance to our Earth?

If we all list our own little things, we maybe encourage others to copy some of them... doesnt matter how trivial or silly something is, if you are doing it for the betterment of the environment, please share it.... And at the same time adopt other folks ideas to expand whatever you are doing.

Greetings and Salutations, Oh Ye of Weaker Mind! The AA sign is for my new Driving School... it stands for Automobile Association. The AA have such a good reputation for rescuing broken down motorists, that I thought I would use their initials for my Broom Flying Training Course. Cant use BFTC.... sounds like something belonging to the RAF or something.

And more appropriate to have the headquartered at the Pub, because when flying a broom it doesnt matter how much alco you drink... makes no difference.... Its not like driving a car, where you gotta stick to your own side of the road, and avoid little white lines and things, and beware of blind rises and curves, etc etc.... with a Broom ... you just fly!

Do you think the United Nations might be interested in learning a few tricks for not burning Fossil Fuels in Transport now with the Global Warming Fears? I could sell them the idea, and make a lot of money, huh?.... On second thoughts I'll just donate the secret to them, whats the use of money when the blossoms are falling off the fruit trees?
