Good. And while you all drinking, you can listen to my Sermon.... just got to give it some serious thought.... what it should be about?... Maybe "The Evils of Warfare"?... or should I stick to the "Saving the Planet" Theme? Or maybe "Recycling Your Household Goods"? or "Keeping a Pet"....?
24 TWENTY FOUR emoticons!!!! The speeding ticket will be on its way in the next post!! Dont say you have not been warned, when it arrives, and you are banned from CS for 24 weeks, yes, 24 weeks, one week for each over-indulgence!... you wont even get the three you allowed as a reduction, because you been abusing the system since last year! Oh dear, what is going to happen on 14th Feb, when WW sends over 500,000 virtual flowers? Wedy, you are going to have very severe withdrawal symptoms when you get restricted...so I'll just add a few more for you to hoard
This is like trying to have a conversation in a Pub on a Friday night! Us three very intelligent people holding forth.... and in comes these two upstarts, halfway thru the conversation, and begin throwing confusion everywhere.
So, on Sunday morning, outside my Cyba Church of Latter Day Sinners, Dietzman and Wedward will have a Face-Off, one on either side of that stream that runs thru the property.... where they will hurl Insults at each other, brandishing their assegais, and doing twirly whirly dances, and shouting more insults..... and then they shall meet in the stream, and wrestle, and the first one to have his shoulders held down in the thick black muck will be the Loser, okay chaps?
And then.... we shall all retire to the Foyer of the church, where the Cocktail Bar is, and have a nice cool beer.
Oh Dear me ( I even cooled down my language), you all know what is going to happen now dont you? You going to get Me doing the Question!!!!... and do you realy realy want that to happen?
Dear Dietzman & Solitare, We are the pawns... all of us.. for Politicians. We all brought up with feelings of loyalty to our countries, thats what motivates us thru life. Then one day, when you old, you see things from a different perspective.... and realise that what you believed so ardently, simply is not true.
It doesnt matter what you believe. There is a Truth, and there is a Lie, and it all depends who told you what to believe, and how gullible you were at the time.
At the risk of boring you both, you obviously have reads accounts of how old wars were fought? The warring factions each stood on opposing hillsides and threatened each other, or else their leaders engaged in combat. In this little village I live in, this centuries old tradition is still carried out! (albeit in the form of annual cycle, swimming or running races). That was in the days of Matriarchal Societies.... no mother took the time to raise healthy sons, to stand by and watch them arbitrarily killed at the whim of some Dictator.
Now, IF the sons, and their Mothers, stood side by side, and challenged HE who declares wars on other countries..... to enter the Arena, against HIS opponent..... and the BEST man win, who then accepts the Nation of his opponent.... much stupid bloodshed, waste of money and effort, would be spared..... and the Small Man and his Family can just carry on enjoying this brief interlude he has on this Planet.
This Macho Display of Power, with much strutting and mouthing of words on Television should cease forthwith, at the risk of being hoisted out of the Power Seat and Immediately replaced with a more worthy Leader.
Wow, I realy had my say, thanks guys, for allowing me that! I been wanting to say that for a long time, ever since my SA government fooled us all with the so-called "Smit Murders"!
Back to the Reading Thread.... wot u all reading now?
I just finished "Black Elk Speaks", and two others on North American Indians.... Seven Arrows, and Lightning. Now I busy with a walking tour of England by an author who writes hilariously... Bill Bryson. After this.... unless God intervenes in some miraculous way to provide me with some more non-fiction.... its the turn of the Dump books... where English books get dumped, alongside the old flower pots, ashtrays, kids prams, wine glasses, etc.
Nope, nobody on this Site has any problems.... their only problem seems to be finding a partner/mate/drinking buddy/fellow poet..... So, Wedy, unless we can come up with a solution to this... we gotta go out of business.
Dietzman.... Dont confuse me with Switzerland.... I just a guest here, looking after two tiny people while their parents work. So CH is not in this discussion.
But as a matter of interest... they DO seem to have the right idea about how to run THEIR country! They remain neutral, despite outside pressure to join in the World Circus, and they care for their children, their old folk, their land, their houses, their wildlife, and their businesses. The only time you see them galavanting around other countries is with their Mercy Services. They seem to have their Priorities in order.
I have no doubt the American GI's are good guys, collecting from each other to supply needs. But arent you forgetting a few things here?... Like Vietnam? and Huseins Fertiliser? and assisting in disturbing the peace that used to exist in Israel? The USA has a way of disturbing a lot of things around the world, and then rushing in like the Saviours of Mankind.
I am South African, and I remember when our German South West Africa was handed to the Indigenous local folk after the Germans pulled out, at the behest of the USA... and the USA "promised" to take care of any problems arising from the inevitable Faction Fighting that is the usual procedure when Europeans relinquish control of Colonised land. SA had warned that she did not have the recources. Well, the fighting started.... and where was the promised assistance?... That area did not include the Diamond mines, could that have been the reason that not much interest was shown by the Powers who usually dive headfirst into "rescue missions" around the world?
Yes, make-up is important... to me... for when I "go out"!
I like to put on a small amount of base, just to sort of smoooooth out the complexion, and then decorate my eyes.....some highlighter, some dark smudgy eyeshadow, outline my eyes, and then just to prove I have got eyelashes they get mascara'd. Cant stand lipstick... makes me feel I got something gooey stuck on my face.
Some women literally paint their faces. I got an Air Hostess friend who looks very plain and ordinary..... then preparing for a flight, she goes to work on her face for about 2 hours, and emerges looking like a movie star/top model clone! I can never believe its the same person!.... suddenly she has these Large Glowing Eyes, Prominent Cheekbones, Pouting Lips, her pointy chin is gone, not a Blemish in site...... But no one dare hug or kiss her goodbye, for fear of dislodging some of the ArtWork.
Imagine.... in the 1800's.... when a shipload of women were sent over to another continent, as wives for the pioneers? The men stood at the dockside, watching the women disembarking, and most of them paired up, got married, and lived long and fruitfull lives..... My Great great Gran and Grandad were two such folk.
Maybe these days, with everyone acting "equal", and the material demands being so great, everyone is far too fussy over their partners?... Women dont fullfill their traditional roles anymore, and therefore the man is unable to fullfill his... his single salary is no longer sufficient. And so, strangers care for the children, food is of the "instant" variety, husband and wife pass each other on their ways to corporate employment like two ships passing in the night.....
Sunshine, that sounded ever so Pious!! "What is your opinion on make-up lord?"...
And the lord did spake unto thee.... "Nay, my child, I did create you all equal.... and Man too shall wear make-up"......and also take a few extra hours in the morning to put it on.... and a few more at night before retiring, to cleanse, tone, moisturise, and gently massage in his Night Cream........
RE: does poetry really works with women?
See what I mean? Marguerite would prefer a Tarantella....which could SO easily become a ... Tarantula...!
