I´m sorry to disappoint you Molly but it is not my style. I don´t go and meet people I have never talked to before.
Whenever people want to see me for business matters, they phone first, then we arrange a meeting. Not the other way round.
I have my number on quite a few posters around here for various reasons. As it happens, one of my posters for dog training classes happens to be at a vet´s near that guy and I told him so.
For me, this behaviour sounds very suspicious indeed. I trust him with my number but he cannot trust me with his????
He says on his profile that he´s separated. I take it his ex lives in UK while he´s living in Spain?
Nevertheless, why refusing to give his number when I gave him mine? From a cell phone you can always withhold your number or... call from a public phone?
And, why wanting to meet me for a drink & a chat???
Once a first contact has been made via PM and you´ve agreed to meet up for a drink with someone who happens to live about 15mn away, what´s wrong with asking them to call you in order to arrange a date & a time and to get a first impression of the person?
Then, after giving them YOUR telephone number, saying they can withhold their number if they wish to stay anonymous, they still refuse to call - for "personal reasons"?
