Well...I lived many years in England (not far from you in fact) and was married to a Brit..so I got to appreciate British humour and all its subtilities.
Hahaha...I'm also typing from my phone and I'm getting quite dependent on it as it's the only phone I have at home and my internet is off most of the time.
As for letters...the only ones I still get are bills.
It doesn't matter to me either for acquaintances as I don't see myself phoning every contact on my phone.
But...apart from a couple of family members...I also have a couple of special friends who I enjoy talking to on Xmas day or new year's day unless we happen to meet and go out.
I was talking mainly about when family, or close friends, who live a long way away. Of course, I prefer a call to text messaging. I like to hear the voice of family members, even see them on skype as we haven´t seen each other for a long long time.
Think of those - like me in a way - who haven´t lived in the modern tech world for very long, and it wasn´t that long ago I could only be contacted by phone - or by letter.
My mother is a typical example (no cell phone, no internet, no email etc.). As for 2 of my sons, they have no cell phone and we can only speak on a landline phone.
Anyway, have a happy and prosperous new year Berry, wishing you the best year you´ve ever had - and good health for you and your loved ones.
I agree...texting is convenient for trivia...and sending pics.
However...for longer discussions it is much easier to phone so there's no misunderstanding. And...at times...it is nice to hear a sister's voice or nephew or niece...or your own kids when you don't see them.
Of course but... What about your family? We use to have a Skype conversation with 4 or 5 of us at Xmas and other important events. But now...those are replaced by a one liner text
RE: Are children of this generation lost?
I agree with that! They'll probably do it through the vaccinations...and voilà!
