I would handle it with a federal tax, to take the regionalism out of it. Create to true level playing field, unlike our current system wherein more affluent areas have a large budget per student.
Sidenote... I am also in favor of an import tax. I would base it on a standard of living index. If you want to import something here, you need to be paying a living wage were you produced it. If your not, we would tax your import by an amount as to make them an equal cost to the consumer, as the products of companies that do pay fairly. Our corporations would benefit from the level playing feild, and the revenue from the taxes could be used to help fund our social programs.
I would charge the parents, I beleive in this state each child is worth about $7,000 to the schol disrtict. I would bill their parents. If we don't need solidarity in the form unions to protect our wages, or socialized medicine to care for our citizens, why should I pay for somebody else' kid's education.
Two kids would cost $14,000 a year, to be paid in advance.
If you don't pay, they don't go. If you can't afford it?
Funny thing about about apologies, the people first to offer them are often the last to owe them, as is the case with you Lee. I'm not talking about the people who offer thoughtfull rational opinions.
I'm the first one to throw up my middle finger and scream "we can do better", but I'm just more the a little tired of the sanctimonious idiots saying things like..."The U.S. economy relies on war mongering." while they are contributing to the very same economy.
If America is soooo evil, nothing but a bunch of greeding war mongers.
Maybe those of you who hold this opinion should stop contributing to the problem. Our government relies on money to commit it's acts, through out the world. Of course that money comes from taxes. So simply stop buying, and using our products. Until you're willing to take that one small step, stop pointing your finger at us, and have a nice tall glass of....STFU.
Very few of my relationships have survived backstepping from romantic to friendship, online, or off. It's rare and messy enough, that I don't even bother trying to make that happen anymore.
You are risking your online friendship, when you meet in person. That doesn't really bother me much, the potential gain outweighs the potential loss, in my opinion.
I doubt I was even 10 years old the first time I wondered how much of the earth we could alter before those alterations began to effect our ability to survive here.
Rejection of our abilty to destroy our environment is ignorance,
and that level of ignorance in a person smart enough to be able to read,
RE: Is it better to be.......
That's why I didn't bother to explain it...
