The question is posed in a perfectly nuetral and respectfull manner. Unfortunately I am still forming my opinions on this matter, and don't wish discuss them openly. I just wanted to reassure you, the negative feedback is not a result of how you approached the subject.
Everyone comes here seeking something. I came looking to refresh my adoration of women. I found what I sought, in their kindness, humor, strength, and wisdom. I will always stand in some measure of debt to the women here. Thank you.
I believe they are obliged to report it if they feel it is a credible threat. I'm not sure if it's a law, but I think they can lose their license if they don't. I would have some concerns about a law that required all threats to be reported regardless of their credibilty. My concern would be that so many idle threats would get reported, that legitimate threats wouldn't be given proper scrutiny.
Finding him guilty serves no purpose. His actions do not make him a threat too society, and do not indicate a need for punishment or rehabilitation.
Second reason:
There was good reason to believe they were all going to die unless something was done. Therefore he did not kill 23 people, he saved 7. Eventhough he was the captain, the 23 deaths are not his responsibilty. All 30 of those people made a choice to enter an environment in which there survival depended on a ship staying afloat. Ships don't always do that.
The he chose clause:
If it had been 10 people in an airplane, and 2 had to be thrown off, the pilot would not be eligible to be randomly selected for ejection, as he is needed to fly the plane. The people on the life raft needed to row for their lives. In this case, those who remained on the the life boat were to be its pilots.
I enjoyed readin "Lila", a novel about quality by Robert Pirsig. It's not the latest book I have read, but some of it's perspectives have stayed with me for quite some time now.
I see a 45 year old guy seeking slim/slender women his age "45" to ten years younger "35", who claims to be a student of life, but is given to generalizing about groups of people, and giving unsolicited advice. You claim to be bored by negative people, yet you started this thread with very clear negative tones.
