That would be a British Shorthair Shallowgrave Blue at my place.
Just kidding, I hate seeing cruelty to animals but they are all the things I would despise in having a cat. Normal people might find that stuff cute, I would find it irritating.
I had the paperwork all ready and signed a week before I could actually lodge it and posted it so the postman would be knocking down the door of the court to deliver it the first day I could get the ball rolling.
I am on the Melbourne metropolitan fringe and it is less than an hour to Melbourne, Geelong or Ballarat so I have the best of city, country, surf and turf at my fingertips. With a population of around 20,000 people, Bacchus Marsh has everything I need, there are schools, a hospital, most shops you need. It is not too big but not too small, unless you want to hide. Bacchus Marsh makes the news in Victoria a bit for people getting lost in the Lerderderg Gorge where they go hiking and car accidents through the notorious Anthony's cutting which is currently having a bypass constructed.
In saying that though, my heart is in Queensland. I really miss living in Cairns especially after just visiting Darwin.
I love animals, I find them amazing but I do not want a pet. I do not like pets inside, I would hate it if they shared my bed, I don't like hair everywhere, I don't want the responsibility or the expense or the extra work and I don't need another personality vying for my attention. I don't want to have to worry if it has escaped, biten or scratched someone, torn up all my possessions, pulled the washing off the line, barks all night or pissed on the carpet. I don't want to put the responsibility onto someone else if I go away. I can't stand the smell of kitty litter or pet food and don't like having to dodge land mines outside. However if I met someone who has a pet, as long as it doesn't become my responsibility and they don't own a zoo, then I could live with that.
And sometimes I find animal people as bad as religious nuts with trying to convert me to become an animal person.
Thanks Ruggedguy. Happy Easter to you too. Why am I always typing Eater instead of Easter?? One tracked mind I guess.
I had a wonderful day with my piglets and family. I had my sister and her 2 kids and Mum and her partner over for lunch while we waited around for another sister & partner to come with her baby's first Easter day Awwwww We had leek and potato soup which I made and was really good and then I had my Mum and her partner back over for roast beef for dinner which was really good too. Who needs chocolate to get fat when you eat at my place. I don't really like chocolate though and even seeing all that chocolate today made me want to
We try to mix it up, share the wealth between businesses rather than inhabiting the same watering holes. We do usually however pick a central meeting place that is easy to find so the odds of losing someone is minimal, and have a contact number for people who intend on coming in case they get lost, are late etc to avoid delays or taking off and missing someone who has attempted to make it. I don't think we have lost anyone yet although a couple of times I have been a bit absent of sound mind.
I reckon we need some fresh meat too. I reckon we could get Normal to give it a plug closer to the event on his radio station.
Gawd, now the cogs are ticking, maybe we could take a party to the Radio station!! Have Normal organise one over there and advertise it on the radio as a massive singles event, get some local entertainers, have a theme night....the imagination is running overtime!!
We do have fun here is Melbourne with our get togethers, whether they are big or small. It is a great opportunity to see new places, try new things, meet new people and just get out of the house. Unfortunately a lot of people are too stuck in the safety of their cyberworld to take a chance. Not sure what they are afraid of...maybe people actually getting to know them??
The New South Welshmen/women are by far the worst for not organising anything. Shame slackers, shame!!
You deserve to be happy and maybe this is the opportunity to at least get you back out there, even if it doesn't work out. Considering your situation it may be very helpful to you on a personal level to explore where this path with someone you already somewhat know. It may be a bit more comfortable and easy for you to let your guard down and let yourself enjoy life and what it has to offer.
Hey Minxy, obviously you made an impression!! I reckon you should go for it, what is holding you back? Fear? You may be missing something really great, clearly he has never forgotten you but my only question is what happened way back then that you parted ways so quickly? Is there good reason that you shouldn't go back?
A man and a woman who had never met before, but who were both married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a Trans-continental train.
Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were both very tired and fell asleep quickly, he in the upper berth and she in the lower.
At 1:00 AM, the man leaned down and gently woke the woman saying,.......... 'Ma'am,I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket? I'm awfully cold.'
'I have a better idea,' she replied 'Just for tonight,...... let's pretend that we're married.'
'Wow!..................... That's a great idea!', he exclaimed.
'Good,' she replied. ..............'Get your own f---king blanket.'
After a moment of silence, .......................he farted.
RE: whats great about where you live
Sounds like you have seen more of it than I have lately.
