Why should Sweden go in a "lock down" when they're not one of the most infected "Countries" Sweden isn't "Special" at all. Compare the deaths in the US, Uk, Brazil, Italy, Spain to Sweden..............
Hope this helps.......Quite a good source re infections and deaths.......
I admit that I don't really like Trump but he's not ruling my Country. People think that our PM Sanchez is a dictator. He's nothing like Franco from yonks ago. Sanchez laid down the law re the virus. We adhered to the rules. Yes! it was bloody hard but we got through it. He gave us praise every week and helped us to carry on. We went through 4 phases. Now we have got our freedom back with restrictions which we still have to abide to. Sanchez gave the Governors of each Region their power back but he can still step in at any time if he needs to. I know that I keep praising Spain but considering that we were the #2 worst Country re the virus weeks ago and now the Uk and US have overcome us. I feel very proud of what we have achieved, even though our beaches and bars are now open, our Police/Guardia are still patrolling the streets to make sure that the rules are still being adhered to.
The Uk and America have never been on a "strict lock down" hence the number of deaths that they've endured...
I had an argument with my friend from the Uk tonight. She is coming over to Spain in 2 weeks time. She owns an apt here. She was complaining about people from the north of the Uk going down to Cornwall "South" of the Uk saying "Cornwall" is closed so don't come here. When I said Spain doesn't want people from the Uk coming over, she went into a "strop" lol....I told her straight and upfront. The Uk wouldn't even know what a "strict lock down is" We don't want you coming over here bringing the virus with you. Aragon "a region in Spain" has been put down into lock down again. Unless people have experienced a "true lock down" they wouldn't even know. We have suffered enough.
I looked at flights from Manchester Uk to Philly the other night. Just out of a matter of interest. American Airlines are not flying any planes from Uk to US. I always fly with them. The only flights I could find were with Lithuanian Airlines. 2 stops going over and 2 stops coming back. £4,800
This song always reminds me of the Aberfan Disaster in "Wales". I don't to this day know why. I remember being in our school Assembly Hall and our Headmaster telling us of this horrific disaster Maybe because this song was top of the charts at that time.......Still makes me cry, every time I hear this song. All those little children and I was just a child when it happened Hopefully, this sort of tragedy will never happen again.....
I didn't find moving to Spain from the Uk traumatic at all but maybe because I knew everyone in my small community. My ex and I had already bought the apartment here so I knew most people. Made friends with new comers when me and my ex parted ways. I think it will be more traumatic for me when I move back to the Uk as I have loads of stuff here now and don't want to pack it all up. It's bad enough packing a bloody suitcase. My friends will help me but it will be a very sad moment when I have to leave after 15yrs
Mickey. When I go to America, I spend my money there. I love going into the shops/ Malls/ restaurants there. I'm like a bull in a china shop. Just looking round at different things. Taco Bell is my favourite as I've not seen one in the Uk and certainly not in Spain. Ruby Tuesday is another favourite of mine. Serve yourself, something I enjoy. Johnny Rockets on Atlantic City Boardwalk. The little dukebox machines that you put a dime in to play the record of your choice, on your own table.
I personally don't think it's safe for any Country to open their borders to another Country but what can we do if our Governments do so?
To be honest with you Lee. The weather in Spain has been really weird the last couple of years. It's gone from leggings, boots, thick coats etc..to summer clothes. Then back to winter stuff within a few days. It was always lovely from the end of March until November. The last 2 winters have been cold. In fact it's been colder than the Uk on many days. I was in the Uk for Xmas for 5 weeks and thought it was lovely. When I got back home to Spain early January, I was colder here than I was in the Uk.
It's a shame that we can't get fish n chips in newspaper anymore. I would love mine wrapped in The News of the World again
Awww come on now. You can't say that it's not true. Tourist's come over to Spain in the summer months. They lie at the side of the pool all day long, soaking up the sun. They put 1 coat of sun screen on, go under the shower and then in the pool for a dip to cool off, then lie on the sunbeds again and so forth all day because they want a suntan. Then after 2 days, they're burnt to a frazzle and have to cover up and stay in the shade because the fluid starts to come out and they stick to the bed sheets at night. This happens year after year. They are burned, not tanned. It's like putting an iron on your skin, it's the same kind of burn. Then they peel. They don't go brown because they've burned their skin and it's white again after the peeling. I'm not asking you to believe me...........
