One autumn a little sparrow decided it was too far to migrate for the winter. He thought he'd just hang out in the barnyard and wait for his friends to get back the following spring.
Later that fall it got very cold and the little sparrows wings iced up and he fell to the ground. Laying there he began to lament not heading south and was feeling pretty sure that he was not gonna make it to see his friends.
So, as he lay there feeling sorry for himself and certain of his own demise, a cow walked by and dropped a load on him. This of course was insult added to injury.
But after laying there a bit, he began to warm up. His wings thawed and he began to sing.... he felt so good!
While he was singin' his little heart out the barnyard cat heard him. The cat promptly walked over and dug him out of the pile and ate him.
The 3 morals to this story are:
1. Not everybody that dumps on you is necessarily your enemy!
2. Not everybody that gets you out of the chit is necessarily your friend!
3. If you're warm and happy in a pile of chit, keep your mouth shut!
