Yes there is help via the state and charities.....but therein lies the issue. Some people are in such a bad way that they have to get help from charities to help them feed their children and heat their homes.
Since when should families have to do this? Charities are over come with the increase in people seeking their help. People who never would before have fallen into their catchment zone.
I'm with Fifi on the whole planning meals and batch cooking then freezing. People need to be creative when it comes to food.
There is an issue which has risen its head in recent years whereby families are having to choose between food and heat. I dont know if you would consider it 'food poverty'.
Given how emotive a topic this could be for some people I do not feel you will get many replies in the forum. Maybe if you were willing to accept private mails on this topic then you might get a few more answers.
Ok....so I havent been out in MONTHS and think a night out is looooong overdue.
So....I was wondering if anyone would be up for a night out in Dublin at the end of November? It'd be a saturday night. I might have a few ideas as to where to go but would be open to suggestions.
There are quite a few of you on the forums that I would like to have a natter with over a drink (that includes folks I might not see eye to eye with either).
I wouldnt want to leave it too late cos then you start hitting xmas party season and people cant make it etc etc.
If I get enough interest I will stick up a proper meet thread.
I took the dog for a walk at 7 this morning and it was pretty cool I can tell you. Took the dog for a walk half an hour ago and I didnt close my coat nor wear my scarf. Its very mild out. Ive been out of the house since 8am and its warmer outside than inside...lol
I've been up since 7, was dark when I took the dog for a walk along the beach and bright when we got home.
Made potato bread and brown bread this morning too.
Now Im going to head back to bed for an hour before I go into town and do a bit of shopping. Who've have thought you have to feed kids every once in a while!
Oh and yeah.....the potato bread was gorgeous with a good cup of tea. Tis the simple things......
There seems to be some posters missing from the forums these last few weeks/months.
Anyone have any idea where they are wandered off to?
Fifi mentioned Phoenix in a thread earlier which made me realise its been ages since I saw him on. Kidatheart too. And havent seen skyblue in a while either.
OMG I HATE HATE HATE HATE horror movies. Im such a scaredy cat. I'd not sleep for weeks if I watched one and I am not exaggerating either when i say that. I'm a woss big time. Heck for about 6 months after I watched Ghoulies, I checked the toilet before I sat down. And slept with the sheets tucked in as tight as I could all round me after watching Killer bees. FFs christ no godamn way I'd watch another horror movie!!!!!!!!!!
RE: Daily Quiz revived, in memory of Fallingman !
Theyre only easy if you know the answerIm full of useless informations (makes me handy on a table quiz team though) but only if there is no sport of politics.
