RE: What your view on weed

When we were in our teens my brother played with about every kind of rolling paper he could find. He once stuck a bunch of them together and made one joint that was over a foot and a half long.

RE: Have you been on TV???

We still tease my oldest friend over a certain episode of America's Most Wanted. If anyone saw the one where they went after some lunatic who shot a police dog, well, that was his former brother in law.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: My lonely profile has no views.

Ok, so I just viewed it, now you can stop complaining LOL

RE: What is the ......

Totally forgot about my process serving days until I read grey's repo man post. Now that was fairly odd at times.

RE: Why women feel insecure without kids?

"so why would it seem odd for a woman to feel lost with them gone?"

Can't miss what you don't know.

RE: POLITE COUGHERS

Guess most of the time, if I hear something that I seriously disagree with, or just plain sounded incredibly stupid, I say, "Excuse me" and ask them to repeat it, just to make sure I heard what I thought I did, before I bust up laughing at it. LOTS of times, a simple facial expression conveys more than words LOL
Other lines that are common.
"Well alrighty then"
"Think so do ya'"
"whatever"

RE: Is Israel Worth the Cost?

Gotta disagree with all of that.
It always sickens me when people just use the current media hype and misinformation to form opinions, instead of researching the root of the problem. Over my lifetime, I have seen and heard nothing but (can't even think of an ugly enough adjective to convey my feelings) from the Arab/Iraq/Muslims/etc, and basically the opposite from the Jewish people. Even those I have known personally have perpetuated this opinion, regarding both muslims and jewish people. Only positive from Jewish, and only negative from muslims.
Nope, not going to bother posting a bunch of facts like others have, because those who are against Israel refuse to accept them anyway.
I also couldn't care less what anyone thinks of my "intolerance" at this point. Just giving as good as I have gotten. Well, considering that I haven't physically or verbally attacked any of them, I am actually given better than what I have gotten.

RE: Does anyone believe in psycics ?

I know for a fact that they do exist, but most you see and hear about on TV and such ARE fakes. Just out of curiosity, I actually hired on with Ms. Cleo to scope the deal from the "inside". Hired as "telephone actresses", and given a script, designed to keep the caller on the line for more than those first 3 free minutes. If it weren't for these fakes and the bad rap they give all, the real ones wouldn't be so hesitant to make themselves known, and people wouldn't be so judgemental just at the mention of the word.

RE: Have you been on TV???

Wish I had been that smart. Yep, too many times, (one of my kids too) causes hassles, never liked being recognized. The last time was years ago, but once in a blue moon someone still remembers. By now I say, "I would love to be rich, but hate to be famous", and hide from cameras.

RE: What is the ......

"Do you realize that none of the rules of the English language make any sense at all!

For every rule there are like about ten thousand exceptions!

Why even bother to make any rules?"

Just change the words "English language" to "law", and "exceptions" to "loop holes" and that would be my experience in that field.

But "odd"? I thought it incredibly odd that a woman would pay me to decorate her Christmas tree with the ornaments her children had collected for her over the years. Thought she would want to do that herself.
Thought it extremely odd dealing with a lot of the customers when I cocktailed.
I won't even get into some of the wierd requests I have had for recipes for some of those special diets.

RE: R U A FOOTBALL FAN WHOS GOING TO WIN! THE SUPER BOWL COLTS OR THE BEARS

RFLMAO I completely oppose professional sports, and hate even having to hear the game in the distance. So, whenever it is turned on in my house, I pick whichever team they AREN'T rooting for, just to bug them, and that team always ends up winning. Last time I did it was when the raiders were in the Super Bowl (I think it was 92 or 93). Yeah, been that long since they dared to turn the game on, any game, at my place.

RE: interpersonal skills

In the "real world" I am a lot more outspoken and forceful than I am on here. I have to deal with idiots from the courts, police, school districts, govt, ... and never forget that THEY work for ME, not the other way around. Too many people do forget that, which to me, explains why there is so much corruption etc. And if you put up with a run around that is all you will get from these places.
Have always said I am two different people, one in "business mode" and another in "play mode". When people know me in one mode or the other, and then see the flip side, either way, they are usually surprised. Due to the change in dress code etc, some don't even recognize me at first LOL

RE: pics with no eyes

Just wanted to jump in and advise you to NOT shave your head. There are a lot of us who think that bald is anything but beautiful.

RE: Why women feel insecure without kids?

"confused " was the only thing in the original post that I could relate to in any way. But hey, sure was good for a laugh (really did think it was supposed to be in the jokes forum after the first read through, and was surprised that it was a serious question).
Guess my answer who be a big old "Hell NO!", but I understand very little of Eastern ideas, especially why women tolerate being treated the way they are overall, so I wouldn't be the one to tell you anything about how they really think.

RE: check this

I get that a lot, and it really ticks me off. I make no secret of it, and just loudly request that they keep the creep on a shorter leash, and suggest a muzzle to go with it.
I don't think it is flattering. I consider it an insult that they would even think I would stoop so low as to reciprocate.very mad

RE: What your view on weed

After reading the forum on meds, it occured to me that it isn't only weed that should be taken notice of on the job. A lot of prescribed meds can be just as dangerous, even if they are legal. Bipolars off their meds can be even more dangerous, etc. While working one job years ago, I not only told the head of safety that I was using sleep meds, I also informed him when I stopped. Sometimes the effects of stopping a med can be as bad as starting.

RE: Meds

Regarding Canadian docs, my experience is exactly the opposite of Puck's. Rude burnouts that seem to insult just for kicks. The facilities are so low budget it is borderline bizzare. I was pretty appalled, and felt like I had entered a chamber or horrors. Made me wonder if Canada's medical system wasn't a whole lot like the US welfare system. Basically bottom of the barrel due to not being able to get those mega fees/wages.

RE: What your view on weed

Yes, I do understand drug testing at work. Used to work in places with random testing, and when you live as close to Boeing as I do, you hear about it through there as well.
And the THC that is in your fat cells can be released long after. Once knew of a person that quit for about a year, but was on a diet, so she still tested positive.
And there are several ways to get past the drug test if you know it is coming. During the legal days I knew a guy who bragged about having drank some kind of red liquid and testing negative, although he had just gotten high the night before. I did a search and found the stuff he was talking about, and that it was sold locally and over the internet.

RE: Did you know Texans

In all fairness I should mention that he was one of the best real men I have ever known, despite all his gruffness. Miss him lots since he moved out of state.
Naw, I don't mind most "guy stuff" (motor oil finger prints you need a chair to reach to clean off, disgusting laundry that you don't even ask what they got into, but never wash with your own...) as long as they put up with things being a "chick thing" (fair is fair). LOL

RE: Did you know Texans

I used to know one of the onriest men on the planet, always growling and gruff. But give him a couple of beers and a full tummy, night night baby, and no more growling. A mutual friend would actually bring him to my house for this purpose if he was getting too out of line. Finally just taught her how to cook LOL

RE: What your view on weed

Sorry, completely missed your point. It was...?confused

N.M. Governor Enters White House Race

I just think, especially after having lived through the Bush fiasco, we should be very careful that we don't elect another president that is going to screw the whole country to pursue his personal goals. With the current issues regarding illegal mexicans and such, I really don't think this is the climate for a Mexican president. Afraid we will be seeing a civil war similar to the one going on in Iraq or something. I would guess a vote for this guy would be an automatic vote for legalizing all the illegals.

RE: Meds

About 20 years ago I did know one that was brazen enough to have one.

N.M. Governor Enters White House Race

N.M. Governor Enters White House Race

Hmmm, getting to the point where deciding who to vote for will become a simple matter of which candidate will actually be interested in representing the WHOLE country, than playing the race card and simply screwing everyone to promote their personal special interests.

RE: What your view on weed

First I want to say that I always laugh out loud when people who have no experience with something, come up with such harsh attitudes for or against. Sorry, but can't give an uninformed opinion much weight. Lashing out in ignorance is just plain silly.
As far as the issue of weed being illegal, nope, shouldn't be. First time I became a registered voter it was only so that I could sign a petition in favor of legalization, as apparently the majority did around here, because this state now has medical use permits.
If anything is going to be made illegal, it should be alcohol. The stuff actually kills people, whereas weed does not. Did some research as to the negative affects of both, and alcohol attacks every cell in your body, weed does not.
As far as anyone using any of these substances, the key is control. Over consumption of anything is wrong and can be harmful. (We see a lot more medical issues from french fries than weed.) Either you are a person that has self control and knows not to over indulge, or you aren't. I would have more respect for someone who smoked a bit now and then for beneficial purposes that didn't hurt anyone else, than anyone who gets behind the wheel of a car after even 2 beers (don't they all think they can "handle it") or someone who takes up two seats and crowds you our of yours because they can't control their eating.

RE: Meds

I would guesstimate that 2% of medical caretakers of any kind actually care about their patients' health. I would guesstimate that perhaps 10% are actually competent to care for anyone. No, they don't research all the meds they prescribe. They have sales people drop off samples at their offices, and then just pass them along to the patients.
By the time I put my foot down and refused to eat another poison pill, I was down to about 93lbs, and had only had a total of 10hrs sleep combined over the past two weeks. Even my kids have adverse reactions to anything man made being put into their systems. One had a horrific reaction just to the preservatives in the MMR booster.
As far as docs in general go, I would have to have a broken bone sticking through the skin or something before I would bother even going in any more. Well, until I find a plant that can do x-rays LOL
My sister went into a hospital for something minor, and never made it out alive.
My mother went into a hospital for something minor, and never made it out alive, and was horribly abused by the staff while she was there.
Both grandmothers went into a hospital for something minor, and never made it out alive.
Just last Thursday, another family member, same thing.
While pregnant with my last child, the docs had me on a med that almost killed us both, and resulted in a child being born with serious problems that lasted for years.
Getting an idea why I am an herbalist. I even use my plants to heal the animals, so they don't have to go to the critter doc.
The motto for this family, "If God didn't make it, we can't take it."

RE: OPINIONS

RFLMAO rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
An editor intimidating? How? They just cut copy to make it fit in a certain amount of space for the most part. Not like they have enough brains to come up with the original content.
And sure, anyone can state their opinion, just be prepared for those with more information/experience/actual knowledge not to have any respect for those opinions if they are complete erroneous. I have seen some pretty ridiculous "reasoning" in some of your posts just this morning, so sure, state your opinion, not telling you not to, just don't take issue with me for flushing them.head banger

RE: Cruise Ships------Good & Bad

Ick, yuck and never again. Yeah, I have done it a few times, trying to convince myself that "it was just that one that sucked", but they all did. Does that cover it for ya'? LOL

RE: We women really do wanna be on time...

LOL in my teens had a boyfriend who was ALWAYS late. Not by minutes, but hours. Got fed up and told him that he said he would be here at 6, and if he wasn't there by 5 minutes after to not bother coming at all, because by 6:06 I wouldn't be. Sure enough he showed just in time (late) to see me driving off with someone else. End of game.

RE: A Vexing Inheritance Question?

Well, I get to see this whole scenario first hand now. Another one down in this family yesterday.crying
