Hi JK, I can't really comment on their philosophy of life, but travelling is a choice. Most do it part-time , living in houses in the winter, taking to the roads in the summer.
The desire to educate their children is not decreasing. It was never there, in the traditional sense at least.
That is not a common word used in Ireland. Nor is Didacoi, although I have heard English people use that also.
The OP took exception to ths fact I mentioned the high rate of criminality amongst the group. I did state it was based on my own experience rather than on empirical evidence. However, it would still be my assertion that the % involved an criminal activity of various types would be higher than in other groupings/ethnic minorities.
If the OP can claim otherwise, I would be happy to be proved wrong.
I did state there were social injustices and discrimination against the group which could be a reason for said criminality, but the OP does not appear interested in any positive statements or genuine debate, focusing on both her own, and others, negativity and prejudices instead.
