I have never done it myself, but I have helped others who needed info. The online census is very useful. Speaking to older relatives is invaluable. Tape the conversations if possible.
There are courses you can do to give you the tools you need if you are interested.
My family didn't move too far. Our ancestral house is only 7km from my parents house, and there are grave-stones going back to the 1700's in the family plot.
No Raphael, they are not a criminal gang. They are Irish citizens who have their own culture and language as well as shared common culture and language.
Yes, there is criminality within the community. There is also an unacceptably high mortality rate, low literacy, and high unemployment.
Hi Joey, I can't answer this definitively, but as far as I am aware each family travels separately, not necessarily as part of a large group. Therefore, it would not be practical to have teachers on the move also.
And do you feel that the travelling community have responsibility in ensuring their children get educated also, or is the onus entirely on the teachers and government?
Nobody should ever *expect* anything on a first date. It is simply a meeting and getting to know each other.
I don't tend to go out to dinner on a first date anyway. I prefer to go on a coffee date, which is much more informal and can be a shorter date if it doesn't work out.
I have often paid on these occasions. It is no big deal. I would never ever expect a man to pay, simply because he is a man.
If the man I am with insists on paying for dinner, then I pay for the drinks in the bar after, or some other reciprocal gesture.
Generally though, things like these issues would have come up in conversation even prior to the date, so there would be no misconceptions on either side.
