RE: US Debt and Obesity

Not an exception. It is a false statement. Plenty of Obese wealthy people and a whole lot of folks that are poverty and ending up at places like "all you can eat" and McDonalds. It simply is not a valid observation on a large scale. Many that eat certain foods has nothing to do with how much money they have.

RE: US Debt and Obesity

One might believe from your post that people that are wealthy are obese and those that are poverty stricken are thin. That simply is not true.

RE: Are you grumpy or nice when you first wake up?

yep.

RE: Are you grumpy or nice when you first wake up?

many times I sleep so hard that my head is smashed into the pillow and is somewhat deformed or if my ear is in the wrong position it is painful till it comes back into normal human shape. About 20 years ago after a very in depth surgical procedure I was in a state (while hospitalized) that I could not sleep for close to 7 days. I literally started to go insane. Paranoia was so heightened I could not have a television on and I demanded that they take away all pain med, it was IV drip type heavy hitting morphine and they tried others. (which is normal after a surgery where they cut you up a lot and staple you back together) Finally after about 5-6 days I had one of my surgeons visit me and I insisted they look at an area where I had been telling them I had an infection. And yes, the surgeon merely took an instrument that resembled a small crochet hook and pierced the area so it could drain. My body felt an immediate response as though a very thick blanket was being lifted from my body. It was the anxiety..a chemical response. I then had an elated feeling that lasted about 30 minutes and then felt as though I was an airplane landing from a very high altitude. I fell asleep and never felt so good in my life. Since then I have been able to sleep so deep that I feel like I am completely gone from my body and just gone. I think the mind and body are very complex in the way they deal with pain and other types of hardships. in my case I suffered terribly but in the end was able to sleep like never before. And that was 20 years ago...

RE: Are you grumpy or nice when you first wake up?

Not "grumpy" but probably disoriented. It takes some time to adjust to this reality. I sleep pretty hard and the transition of making it back is not so easy sometimes. Once I am cognizant of my surroundings I am pretty good.

thumbs up

RE: how heavy is your head..?

One article compared it to the weight of a bowling ball. When you think of is like that it seems a lot heavier than one might think.
So I wonder if the term "pin head" is related to someone having roughly 20 some odd percent of a typical head. Where do we come up with this stuff?

RE: Do you beat your kids ?

I have no children but it is not in my persona to beat children or animals. I just do not rely on physical violence when there are many ways to be a good parent and a partner without that type of behavior.

RE: Have you ever had a 'wierd and wonderful' dream?

There was this one dream that I am walking in a woodsy type environment and there is no one else, just me. I am near a waterbed that has dried up or at least not deep anymore. I follow this path and as I am walking somehow I seem to move from being on a path to being inside a kind of narrowing tunnel made of earth and it is not dark..the light shows me where I am going. I don't seem to be afraid and I continue as if I am accustomed to going this way often. eventually I am not really walking but on my stomach and really can't go much further. I am feeling that bit of anxiety as I am somewhat confused and yet feel as if I must go forward. So I am at a standstill and I start to kind of get an awareness of what is around me. Still the earth...soft soil, ferns, but there is something very close to my head..close to my face. I realize that it is alive and very quickly it occurs to me that it is a very large spider. The spider is not awake and it is not typical...it is more fleshy in appearance and it is also very compacted. I feel the danger yet I am not scared. I do not attempt to leave. I look at it closer and see the definition of the legs and the thickish abdomen. I feel a build up of more intense anxiety and finally wake up in a sweat and very unaware of where I am or what is happening. It takes about 30 minutes to really get the idea out of my head that it is not real.

nothing really wonderful just a strange one.

RE: The line between confident and arrogant...

It may simply be that you don't hear yourself as "confident" because you are not confident about yourself. If that is the case then it is a matter of dealing with how to become confident. When you are confident it will usually show in not only your words but in the way you carry yourself and in how others perceive you. For instance the last statement "maybe I'm hopeless" does not come across as being so confident.

RE: Looks like I'm the only one from California posting here

I don't know about offsite or what is in your area but as far as California goes it shows at least 600 members and maybe more....plus there is always people that are joining and I suppose some leaving as well. That does not mean that they will all be posting on the forum. But that does not mean you can not do a search and send someone a message if they seem to be interesting. Maybe you have already figured this out but from your original post it does not seem that way. How long have you been active here?

RE: Looks like I'm the only one from California posting here

If you are new here you will find that the forums for individual states in the USA are not frequented much in any of the states. I am actually surprised they still exist. However it does not reflect on the amount of active members on the site residing in California. You can check out other states in the US and it is the same.

RE: WHAT MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY?

I don't really know any more. Things that once I would say made me happy don't seem to apply any more. More and more the things I would ask for are not tangible in what we see as possibilities in this moment in time, and maybe never will.

RE: I love my phone more than my wife

oh, I really don't know that one so well.

RE: I love my phone more than my wife

Is it an iphone?

RE: Did God create just Adam & Eve or everybody ?

A lot of people don't talk about this. When I was a child and studying this stuff I was told that one was the actual account for the Spiritual creation and the other was a representation of the material explanation of what we only see and touch. Not even a actual history but more of a story for those that could not conceive of the Spiritual interpretation of creation. Anyway. That was long ago and I don't think of these things so much anymore, but your post seemed to remind me. I think that far too much is taken for fact and the actual moral or lesson is not taken into account.

RE: Star Trek

I enjoy Star Trek and the other movies and tv series as well. I hope they come out with a new movie and series. I need to have some fresh material. ;-}

RE: which is better a church or a mosque...?

Better?? are you campaigning or just looking to mix it up a bit?

I have been to Churches of different faith all over the world. I don't belong to any but have usually had a fairly warm reception. I have admired the artwork in many of the Basilicas and other old buildings that are in many places outside of the USA.

RE: Have you ever had a 'wierd and wonderful' dream?

A few days ago I was asked to have a test where they gave me an anesthetic so I would not be uncomfortable while they looked down my throat into my tummy ( everything was fine) and this drug they used was supposed to leave my system but since that time I have had dreams that are very very strange.

RE: Is finding lover for life-long relationship toughest now a days?

I saw some pretty nice looking homes in Phoenix...but surely many would say oh how boring. But I have always been able to make most anyplace more than just "fun" ;-}

RE: Is finding lover for life-long relationship toughest now a days?

lol. I know, but there are good things about it as well. I was just looking around for a new area to move to. I think I just need a larger area and more sunshine. I saw some very interesting places with a pool of course. lower tax base and lots of room for way more than myself. the one thing I noticed was air quality is nearly 3 times as bad..and I guess I can't expect it all to be perfect. I don't know why it has to be like that though. I just am tired of this wet climate here and no sunshine hardly ever. Need to gather up my "stuff" and take a trip.

RE: Is finding lover for life-long relationship toughest now a days?

I must be an odd one. I dont throw out anything.

RE: What men are looking for?!

<<---- This Man (me) I would like some things like having that person in which you can experience life together and seem to miss them when they are not around. A person that when you are at the grocers' you look at the ice cream and know just exactly that special person in your world likes which flavour the best. You even know to drive a certain route when together because she loves the way that "one" house looks and seems to like checking to see if they have done something new with it. It goes on and on, it is a pleasure, even through challenges you know there is a answer in that things will be fine.

RE: the word "Dear"

yep, that's a different use of the word. I do notice that in translation that "dear" is often used incorrectly to even us guys as a way to address someone in a way of a friendly nature. So it is many things. Being an international sight there are a lot of possibilities. It was not uncommon to write "Dear Sir or Madam" but even that is convoluted with the changes in how people use more slang and words take on new meanings.
