Where in my comment did I give a pass to an abusive partner. I did not. But I did point out when there is a lack of respect on either side it creates problems. Would not an abusive partner be classified as having a lack of respect? Sometimes critical analysis is just another form of nitpicking.
While I agree we men understand that if we do certain things women will react in certain ways. That type of knowledge comes with relationship experience. But do we really understand what's going on in their heads that cause them to react the way do to a lot of things we do? Or in general why they do a lot of the things they do?
I think the most attractive women have a blend of at least 2 nationalities. To me the blending seems to soften features that may be overly pronounced and enhance others that are not.

I moved to South Carolina 4 years ago from San Diego, where to weather is mild, to a place where it's freezing in the winter and very hot and humid in the summer, not to mention the stinging, biting and just down right annoying insects. I have only been to Florida one time last year in May to pick up some furniture and what not. It took me less then an hour to load the truck and by then I was soaked head to toe with sweat, and that was at 10 a.m. I would imagine it would be great there in the winter. Florida also has a very healthy insect population. South Carolina has only marginally better weather. There's also a lot of people living there so there's a lot of traffic on the roads. And don't forget the occasional Hurricane. Here in S.C. we are often affected by Hurricanes and the associated power outages, which can last for day's to weeks. In the Summer it's not pleasant with out A/C.

I was married 28 years and was divorced 5 years ago (not my choice). I feel that most people don't take marriage seriously enough to ride out the tough times that happen. There's a reason why the marriage vows contain the words " for better or worse, in sickness and health" It's to let people know that these things will happen so be prepared for them when they do. I do not fear marriage, but do fear divorce. After going through the humiliation of one I never wanted or thought would happen. I never want to go through that again. Although at this time I'm not making any effort to find someone, that doesn't mean I wouldn't get married again if the right one came along. I just hope if I do it again, there is no divorce.
