RE: what is going on????

Great thread Lorraine!

I introduced myself when I joined and someone started a thread wondering why newbies found it necessary to introduce themselves!

I pointed out it was a category choice and as a newbie I was trying to fit in.

of course that lasted about five minutes.rolling on the floor laughing

Everyones should post when tfhey feel like posting.

Don't take it personally if you do not get a response, if you keep talking in various threads and are not rude and insulting eventually people will talk back.

Do not jump to conclusion that that someone has
a) taken offense at your post
b) is actually talking about you in their post.

Using the reply function in your postings does help a lot with misunderstandings, but it is not perfect...we all have bad days sometimes.

I have been here about a year now, and although there are times when things get out of control, I never stay anywhere that I am not having any fun.

So newbies, welcome and enjoy.

Old hands, thanks for being around.

and happy Eggs to All.

Half Life

Life turns on a dime
most days, and gives no change
but every now and then
the changes ring a carillon
above my head.
so loud the dead themselves
sit up, take note and start to talk.
I write pretty words
that sing of sunsets,
paint the golden path of dawn,
a tapestry of delicate delight
that hides the bitter neatly
in the sweet, enticing you
to come and play,
to wander in the gentle dreams,
illusions that I give away
and sometimes drown in
when the bones of truth
crush hard against
the endless moment
I inhabit
Sweet echoes of mortality
are drumming on the anvils in my head
and somewhere, buried deep
I find there is a yes and no
a stop and go,a walk, don’t walk
all dancing their duality
across the single page
I write on.
The sound of one hand
clapping is heard
by just one ear
and only one eye burns
with just one tear.

Thoughts on Life

The 2 most common elements in the universe are
hydrogen and stupidity.

Money can't buy happiness... But it sure makes misery
easier to live with...

Nothing in the known universe travels faster than a
bad check.

If you are given an open-book exam, you will forget
your book.

The trouble with doing something right the first time
is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to
serve as a warning to others.

The average woman would rather have beauty than
brains, because the average man can see better than
he can think.

Paranoids are people, too; they have their own
problems. It's easy to criticize, but if everybody
hated you, you'd be paranoid, too.

light seeps around the edges
of the morning
stroking all the colour
back to life;
flowers bloom anew,
leaves green into
curving silhouettes
imprinted on the clouds
that relinquish grey for pink,
for gilt-edged whites
that echo bougainvillia,
clotted cream just waiting
to be tasted
by the iridescent gleam
on fevered wings,
small scimitar of beak
buried deep in nectar
slight ripple of the petals
as the airborne oil slick
shifts, now up, now down
the rainbow
on the surface of its feathers
echoed in each dew drop
misted in the grass

Hi Trish, gangel, tumpa, magic.

good to see you all. Sorry for the single answer, but I am a little tired.

Trish I like the concept of 'past as dream dust'

Dreams that fade,
that dwindle into dust,
are meant to settle
on our skin
for future winds to scatter,
butterfly scales of colour
yet to come.

or something like that!

Have a good night, morning, moment, all.

lonely is moment
when your heart trips
on the one who is not there
when even if you hated him
you wonder..
was it as bad as this?
This endless dark
that has forever
for a flavour?
Oh this is worse
by far...
and then your heart
picks up the beat
and sings songs
with echoes from
the promise of tomorrow
that speak of dawn
of sunlight, tunnel's end
and you listen, nod,
remember that it was
that bad, and you are glad
to leave the past behind
to crumble dust to dust.

RE: Stem Cells.

If I knew the answer to this I would be moving mountains and taking up alchemy!

If energy can be neither created or destroyed we exist in a very large yet finite and mutable Universe. If creation is possible we may be in a very small part of an infinite Universe.

I don't know the answer to this either, but the questions are fascinating.

I lean towards the theory that we manifest (sometimes rather ineptly and unintentionally) all the facets of our lives. Creators without a 'how-to manual. I am currently working on dissassembling something.

RE: Stem Cells.

So following right along...education coming from the latin 'e ducere' to lead out in the sense of retrieving knowledge intrinsic to us...

is that knowledge merely information stored within our cells or are we in fact imbued with actual elements of the superconsciouness? If superconciousness is part of us (if a somewhat sleepy part)... rather chicken and egg isn't it?

Why separate the artistic? Where we frequently manifest 'that which never was'. Surely it is a matter of scale?

(I just had a dizzying vision of the Universe being an animated art project in some rather large being's studio!)

I think I need a cup of tea!

RE: Stem Cells.

One discussion I got into on the subject came to a grinding halt when I said "If we are made in the creator's image wouldn't that make us creators too?"

Seemed logical to me!
