what reaility is he inhabiting .........
i am going to start drawing up plans right now we will be so successful xmas will be forgotten in a few years 
like you scrooge is one of my favourites and i also love the grinch i empathise with him since i also hate xmas and there is nothing worse than when xmas starts early and you have to hear all that inane stuff for months on end .. infact last year i had started a thread on stopping xmas ...so what do you say ..shall we phone the grinch and see how we can bann the whole thing........... 
nothing else comes close to all those memories of sheer childhood abandon and wonderment....which i think we spend a life time trying to recapture...
talk to them ...listen to them.......start out without any preconceived ideas......
i think in a way you are both wrong and right... the thing is you see the expression in love we see the other through rose coloured glasses is so correct,...cos in fact that is what love is that you see the good and you dont see or rather you just forgive the bad....the bad is not important ...and when you are out of love ..that is the point where you can no longer forgive the bad......not see the bad....its a sad point in ones relationship ...where often you gain and loose at the same timecos you see we all have thousand of defects and we all hope that someone will love despite or rather even because of those thousands of defects...whenn we can no longer do that...and someone cannot do it for us ..then we are lost .......fortunately most of us continue to do it with out kids .......
you excluded of course....I hope that you are fully recovered and enjoying life again
