I understand Name, what I want to know are the roots of these evil and if anything, make sure it's not a set up? Meaning, the act to escalate a world attention, something like this is staged by the mourners' party and vengeance all over again.
I'm not saying that's the case but it can be possible. Did anyone claim credit yet?
That's what love is Secret. I realize as I am getting old that love changes so much in our perception. There's so many kinds of love. But the one that matters forever is the love that comes from within ourselves. How we let that love shine around us. That to me is what I call love as it should be. I love without expecting to be loved. Having said that, love is most pure when it's given without us asking or expecting.
You sure did travel a lot Rob. Been on some of your destinations like Cairns Queensland and some Asian countries you were into. What's your most memorable one?
secretagent09: GW, I appreciate your reply however I do not agree that love is a giving and taking relationship. I will be 80 years old in 19 days and I do know what love is when I give it to someone. I recognize how it makes me feel. I also know how to recognize real love if someone wants to give it to me.
I loved someone who did not love me the way I loved him. Still, I was happy to be in his life and so I continued to love him. He didn't give me romantic love to "take" but he gave me time and friendship and that was enough for me.
Now loving onself is indeed the root of a true love. Permeate it into the gardens of the world and let it shine. I have been loved, in many ways, I am forever grateful and thankful. I think what we should truly focus on is a genuine and pure love that comes from us, for us and those around us.
Thank you for that true sense of what love is "not asking anything".
It's the glow, it's the spirit in us that makes love not needing anything. I think, the monks, do have this in themselves and live by it.
BB, why are we so crippled with the power of ID? Why are we born with it? Why can't we just go on living sans power, greed, and seeking out the approval of others?
Now you got me into the very core of what we need to do to live on love alone. Love that comes from the deepest of our soul. Talk to me BB.
I'm feeling the vibe BB. The ego is conceding. Now I know and feel what you meant. In an ideal world, love is the king, the good spirit, the energy that sustains everything. Sans ego, it's a perfect world. I am endowed with the power to hold unto. Yes, now here's my question. Why does ego factor in in all that we do? 8 billion people B, why?
Better question. What do we do to enlighten the world and eliminate ego?
I'm not sure if it's contadicting anything. But what I meant is that love is a very different if not difficult to measure because of so many variables. When I said I feel loved even if I am loved by others or simply by myself. I certainly don't prefer the latter. I do know what a glorious feelings there is when someone loves you and you get fulfilled in many ways. Love is not as simple as holding hands, talks about sweet nothings, no.
Either way. Love not asking anything is , like I said a most ideal thought. In a world so torn with cruelty and hatred, I wish love always prevail and eliminate all negative aspects of life.
First of all, what is love? Certainly it differs with so many people. Coupled with differences in cultures, beliefs and needs, love while it's universal in nature, regard, feelings, logic and perceptions, define what love is. Then add circumstances a person is in, then love can be as convoluted as anything else.
To me whatever joys, happiness and sll that's positive between two people loving each other is love. Love not asking anything? While that seems so poetic, doesn't quite settle in my thoughts about love. Love begets love. I feel love whether I am with someone or not.
