Bottom line...when you run into a truly honest person, and you can envision jumping their bones...might be worth investigating as a possible "keeper"....such are people and the way the world seems to work! I apologize for my misunderstanding. Is it too much to expect honesty? Yes. You get what you get from people, and it is up to you to determine the merit, truthfulness, and weight of what they put forth. If your judgement is relatively sound, you may indeed be rewarded with honesty, but hey, it's always a crapshoot!

I sit here watching your POTUS speak.....and I keep reminding myself that the PEOPLE (for the most part) of the USA....in the wink of an eye, I would go to bat for....but #45 is doing VERY little to promote the USA on a global scale. And....he basically just declared trade war upon Canada. but hey, not a worry...that's only a few thousand a year trade relationship....

Not really CC. As a "foreigner", I will admit that I have always held the United States of America in very, very high regard! Damn, you are our neighbour (neighbor) but dang.....#45 is a piece of "work". Canada has never "laughed" at the USA regarding its relationship with its amazing people....just sometimes we have to question your "choices"....(sticks down, heads up!) No walls being planned....yet.

I am armed, and former Blackwatch and PPCLI....but no matter....this is in regards to the police force. So? If a weapon is used in the commission of a crime in the UK, a call must go out for special para-military forces? Here in the "colonies" it takes a LOT of screening and training to be allowed a weapon, but they are granted, and I will be honest with you, it provides me with a degree of comfort and security. Then again....my home province is kn own to own several million weapons,,,,and I live right next door to the USA - those anti-gun pacifists!

So seriously, you wish your constables to be "meter-maids?" I am a retired Officer of the Crown. I never drew arms, but it was available had the need arisen. To arm an officer is not to arm them to shoot, but rather, to arm them to defend. The BIGGEST thing is you have to choose your officers carefully.

Yes. I live with Scarlet-coats...the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I have no problem with seeing Officers representing the Crown to defend and protect me to bear arms. The RCMP are very reluctant to draw them, but, as empowered by Canadian law, the are armed, and if need be, can draw upon lethal force in the discharge of their duty. I would expect no less from UK police forces.

Why war prevails? A historically complex question. Why are there "borders" that define territory? Are we not all of the same species? Territory, religion, wealth, lack of wealth, the reasons for warfare are seemingly endless. With a population of 7.5 billion and climbing, there will be no immediate or foreseeable end to warfare. Life is an amazing "thing!" All living things must kill to live, be it a plant or an animal...we survive by killing and consuming each other. Seeing that Homo sapiens are now not only the apex primate, but the apex SPECIES on the planet...our over-population will continue to lead to even more intense conflicts. It used to be territorial, nowadays more about Homo sapiens ideological misconceptions....but, as over 1.7 billion people who are starving realize, it may soon come down to something as simple as food - and that would be another reason for war to prevail.

In Canada, only if it is via autopsy or a scientifically donated cadaver. To hack a body into little pieces could be defined as an indignity to a body (which is a criminal offence here). Question is...why did the heart stop beating? lol
