Just saw a discussion on Facebook expat group about this subject. A wife with hubby and 2 kids was saying she spent €100 per week total. I thought that was impossible, because I spend close to that (including booze) and I'm single!! And I don't eat meat! So what is this woman eating? - pasta and potatoes??...
Agreed. Marriage is grist for the mill for legal eagles. Outside of insurance policies and the legalities of 'partnership' a troth is a troth. get on your knee is you feel it makes it more sacred. There was a day when a man's word was written in stone, it didn't need a bloody lawyer.
Speak for yourself. I do not 'feel miserable in my singledom' ... yes, being in 'coupledom' is nice, but as we all know too well, it is always a huge compromise.
The single lifestyle has many, great privileges to it. It need not be a permanent status quo, but enjoy the advantages while you have them, comrades-in-arms.
