If you had the option, would you go back to nature and live rough....log cabin, wood fire, lake water, hand washing, hunt for food, grow your own vegetable patch etc?
Agreed. Getting older, certainly past one's sixties often means having to accept the status quo and making the best of it. As you say, being single is patently better than being in a compromised relationship. In fact, being in an unhappy relationship is simply miserable.
