I don't like a fatal outcome, I never get sick of life. I don't like any of the year's seasons When I don't sing cheerful songs.
I don't like the cold cynicism, I don't believe in enthusiasm, and also I don't like it when someone else reads my letters, Looking over my shoulder.
I don't like it halfway, or when a conversation is interrupted. I don't like being shot in the back, (equal to being stabbed in the back) as much as I'm against shots at close range.
I hate gossips in the form of versions, Hate worms of doubt, the needle of honours, Or when it's against the flow all the time, (expression of annoying feeling for your dog/cat when you stroke your pet against its hair growth) Or when the iron is put against the glass. (expression of annoying sound when you run a piece of metal against glass)
I don't like being overconfident (fed up with confidence), I'd prefer to let the brakes fail instead! It's a shame to me that the word "honour" is forgotten, And that they talk behind someone's back.
When I see broken wings - There's no pity in me, and for a good reason. I don't like violence and powerlessness/weakness, I feel sorry/pity only for the crucified Christ.
I don't like myself when I'm a coward, It is an offence to me when innocents get beaten, I don't like it when someone pries into my soul (expression of someone annoyingly prying into your private life when it's non of their business, trying to figure out your inner feelings, thoughts) And even worse than that is when someone spits at it (at your soul) (expression used when you do something good for a person but he doesn't give a damn about you and just pays you back with a spit into you soul).
I don't like the arenas, A million is exchanged for rouble (impossible to translate. (means that real talents, spiritual riches are exchanged at a cheap rate for arenas, for popularity, for fame. ) Let the big changes come ahead, But I'll never be able to like it.
Sorry to disappoint you about yoir back vision of my country but its not about me and my youth years. Generations of people have been happy building a good standard and a peaceful environment for their kids. Everyone owed their home and land. There was privately owed business too. Shops, coffee shops, bars and so on. We had the Pepsi and Coca Cola and everything you had. I'd say much more than you had. Don't compare yourself to others. That's very wrong. We lived a good life. That's all. Freedom is a state of mind...
I give up trying to put in your thick head that you are funny speaking about something you have no idea of. As I've said many times it's a pure superiority complex. Deal with it.
I don't need to justify the better life we had even without the travelling to your part of Europe. We didn't have homeless and jobless people, families were encouraged to have more children and were greatly helped. Anyway, you can not understand it. And that's fine. I'd rather not travel than live in the West... And trust me, at least 80% of those who now work in the West are building their homes here, in Bulgaria...
A lot of Bulgarian engineers worked abroad, especially in Africa and the Arab world, building factories and dam lakes. Medical professionals and other specialists too. My family travelled by car around Eastern Europe couple of times. Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Serbia. It was not a big deal to afford that kind of travel, fuel was cheap and our currency was strong. The West is an easy target now for illegals, you are too welcoming and give freebies, who would't want to live on benefits?
Oh yes, you are attacking me, it is called passive aggression. I sit here wondering what kind of satisfaction do you get from preaching people on verses that you have never read in your life?! You need to stop and take a good look at yourself. We still shoot at people who try to break our border control, it's called national security threat. During the socialism we had enough of countries to travel to, rich culture and plenty to see there. Greece was easy to travel too, Africa, Asia, and especially Japan (we've always had a special connection), Arab world, South America. If you believe that Western Europe and USA are destinations to die for, well, they are certainly not...
Haha, no, no let's stick to Ireland and its gene pool. I remember how my country was during the Socialism, do you? Have you lived here? There was never a communism, if you have't grasped that yet, let me enlighten you now. My country was prosperous and rich. Free education, free health care, free seasonal holiday camps for the kids. Free sports activities and sport camps. I can go on forever, Snow. Please, just stop talking about things you know nothing about. Travelling wasn't impossible but it was not easy because of your side of the curtain too. Ah, and by the way, Deirdre has never been shy to make sure everyone know she can't stand Eastern Europeans. Fact!
It is a long time I agree. In other circumstances such a period of time would have made us proud, historically speaking. We are all a good mixture and no one is immune to being a bit of their "enemy" The seas we share or happen to surround us are as much of a of a privilege as being able to conquer inland. The East and West of Europe have it all. Proven to be civilisations that have set the norm worldwide. I might go in extremes to prove a point but after all we need to compare to keep our compasses in the right direction.
"While the genetic population is constantly changing, there are strong links to Russia."
“The modern-day Irish population can trace its origins probably back to a foundational event that happened in the early Bronze Age, 4,000 to 4,500 years ago,” Dr Cassidy said.
“It’s a movement in the populations from the Steppe region of modern-day Russia. If you’re looking for an origin for the modern Irish gene pool, that’s your foundation point.”
People always learn the hard way . And happiness is a lesson many fail to understand. Of course it is in your own hands, others can only add to it. And who doesn't want more of something nice?!
Ches, I don't know how you always get away with saying what you are saying... I'd be crucified straight away. I don't see anyone objecting, hmmm, where's Snow, where's Deirdre? Thanks for explaining what everyone knows but doesn't want to admit
Come on Oz, you're smarter than that. And by the way Dino is fine, I'd say much better than many on here. He's doing stuff he loves. So, no worries, eh.
Yeah, I'm sure you are buzy behind the screen. But your arrogance is truly amazing, Moth. I just don't want to embarrass you in front of everyone. Got that?!
Wounded up Says a woman living in a country that's chopped up in two and each part is ruled by a different government. Dino is just fine away from here.
There was a similar thread not long ago and I will repeat myself here. It's the presence. The way they fill the room and change the air. With their presence!
To know a Russian or Eastern European or anyone else different to you you need to become them. Snowy, you and the rest will never understand what it is like to be us. We might share the same continent but we are very different. Even those who want to become you will never like it. They will always find a way to show you that, as I believe many do. Tighter communities of the foreigners are an absolute prove they don't want to lose what they are and become you... I hope it is simple enough to understand it and I don't say it in a bad way.
