RE: Tolerated/ "Legal" Cannabis in Russia ever?

Down here they do not smoke "pot", but they have their meetings with Maria & Juana along the beaches.

No one cares.

Why? Well, actually, we have yet to see a bad effect from it. Problem here is the siesta drinking people, driving drunk back to work at 5 pm.

They had a huge drive in the autumn and tested drivers en mass. Alcohol was found to be the major problem, and second to that were up-beat drugs like amphetamine.

The sativa fellow feel out of the discussion, it seemed as if since we have the beaches pretty warm all year, people prefer sitting there with their herbs and not bother about driving anywhere for a while.

Sure, proven is that THC can create a delayed psychosis, but it is really rare. It has nothing to do with the amount or frequency of usage; it is just something that can happen.

We need to put that side by side with the legal drug we have - alcohol. Then we find that the negative effects of THC are really nothing at all. Alcohol WILL burn your brain each and every time you use it.

Why do I care? Well, not any longer, but I used to be very involved in anti-drug. I still do not use it, it taste awful, smells burned pine sap and I am pretty laid back when I need to be anyway.

But most of all... not one single time have a smoker tried to rob me, fight me or annoy me in anyway. Can I say this about the others. Nope.

RE: economic woes and employment problems and possible solutions

I forgot to add the maybe best advice I could offer:

If you can afford it, take time of and go back to school. Get better in what you do or increase your options by learning something new.

RE: economic woes and employment problems and possible solutions

Great initiative!!

First, what areas do not decrease right now, or are growing as an effect of the turned down economy? Everything that is crucial but costs money would be in focus, energy for example.

Energy

Find a company in your neighbourhood that saves energy and by doing that also saves cash for their clients. Those companies are on the rise and will need sales people, clerks and field staff.

Production

Look in the shelves at home: What do you absolutely need to buy home and what of those could you produce? Could it be possible to produce this at a lower cost than the price in the store? And with a margin of 20% on top of that, are you still cheaper than the shop variant?

Then start working, there are clients waiting to move over to your product!!

Services

If you are handy, make a special offer for elderly people to light up their garden path, clean off snow or sand/salt their entrance. Work two-three in a team and make sure the offer stands out. This is applicable on many different things, really.

If you are a professional with book keeping skills but low on clients, get together with an analyst and start making savings for your clients, there are huge leaks in companies maintenance costs, you could even end up saving the job for a few in that company by finding other means of saving for them. (The cost to get new employees when wind turns is high; they rather keep them they have).

Seminar, teaching

Do you have a skill within a hobby or similar? When you are here writing in the forum, put together a compendium about it and launch a small scale seminar.

Even if people are low on jobs, it does not mean they are all low on money. With more time at hand, chance is they are going to take up a new hobby, or learn more about one they already have.

We should have another place to do this, rather than in here.

RE: Selfish

I would wonder why we were there in the first place, if this person came there with me only to say this.

Apart from being disturbed with it - trying to figure out what made her make that statement there and then; I would ask her what she mean with being happy, and why I am an obstacle for her to achieve that.

I am very selfish; I would not want to spoil any time from my life with someone that does not like to be with me.

RE: 911 was...

I made up a new word. Cool cool

RE: 911 was...

I don't know about there, but over here files are kept on data nowadays, backed up in several locations. Files are not paper held together by clips any longer, neither are they files on a local workstation.

I would be surprised (or would I confused ) if a fire could destroy official onformation in todays USA laugh

RE: BONK BUS2 - THE EUROPEAN LEG...

As in "Who took the piss this year?"

Actually, who did and would win? laugh

RE: Why do men ignore big beautiful women

Well, we skip all sorts of images, depending on what we find interesting. Big, Small, Blond, Brunette, Short or Long hair, Tall or Short, Pale or Coloured, Blue or Brown eyes, Kids or No kids, Young or Old, Smile or Grumpy.

I mean, come on... You don't want just anyone to eye you up, do you? Or do you? laugh

RE: A Million displaced people -The Plight of Tamils

The world is not. The number of articles and discussions about the situation is endless.

Would you care to rehash the original reason for the conflict to us, perhaps without leaving out India’s role and side-taking?

In this, also make a slight comparison between the two countries, a little about the importance of the control of the waters between them?

Maybe a short briefing about what SL actually done for its citizens, be it Tamil or Sinhalese?

And lastly, mention something about the local support among the Hindi for the actions of LTTE, and how LTTE finance their mission.

I will be listening carefully and maybe someone else will too.

I can only say one thing; the history of Palestine and Israel is very different to the one you talk of and has a lot more ties to the west than the troubles in Sri Lanka. We should keep them apart and learn about each setting as they are and not become confused by mixing it all up.

You must have had a busy week here, I've been around near three years now, and I have yet not come to that conclusion rolling on the floor laughing
