We want to be strong, secure, financially independent and all this.
We can be, and often we are, it is not a new invention, only the bit regarding finance has changed, since we now allow for women to search their own career and for men to stay home with the children.
But the want of having a function, being important – one of two “unique” in a relation, it did not change. No matter how much I get disturbed by those claiming men are more and women lesser, I still want to be the Man in my house and her to be the Woman. No role is less than the other, we still share work that needs to be done, but basically she is a soft, caring woman and I am a tough grunting man. She comforts me when I hurt my thumb building that new wall for her. She insists she loves to make me coffee when I am working at the computer and I love giving her massage.
Simple things but easily translated to what roles we would have had was this 50 years ago.
But I do not complain over independent women, and then require them to be just that the next second.
No, not like that, though I have found that in all that happens we can make reason.
If I get stuck on an airport because of sever delays in the traffic I prefer rebooking that connection flight to a much later hour and go somewhere in the town where I am and enjoy the break.
I would have had to reschedule most things anyway, why not simply do it properly?
My thesis was about the change from the plan economy to market economy in the east Europe and the importance of a grey zone (black market) to get things going. It was not popular but I got highest point for... layout and research!
He needs to quickly decide what the focal point he wants to work with is. The title looks like a wish to either blame or credit the communistic thinking in an economy, he needs to decide which and have that IN THE TITLE!
Work backwards, is the summary really proving his point? How was this proof built up? Normally the proof is a mish-mash or read articles, guts feeling and other studies made.
Can he find real reference material to build up to these and name the sources?
Sort them in order of importance, real person + official non-commercial studies come first and rumours last. Guts feeling must be moved over to the summary as a personal reflection.
If there are not more than one or two sources, then built the full paper on a study and reflection built on those, ignore any rumours or shade articles (= commercially ordered studies).
The summary can prove him a genius if it disturbs many enough people
The key in any case is to turn the cake upside down and work your way through to the icing or he will never finish in time.
To if life exists elsewhere? Yes, I am sure it does, or did, or will.
"Civilised" as us or at least intelligent as we see it? Don't know, since with so many species only here on earth, we were the only one to actually get this far, it looks like a rare chance.
Meet other intelligent life? The distance between solarsystems are huge - to simply send a radio message takes years to reach a reciever. It's far fetched in the world I know here and now, but then, how much do we actually know.
Universe is endless, and that is pretty impossible in it self...
