RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
I promise you no promises.

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
Are you kidding?
I am all for promises, John!
Unconditional
promises, that is.
"
If
-it's-a-true-love" condition is no good...
Or you'll have to define it solid.

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
P.S. The meaning of such a promise:
"it will depend how I feel about you at the moment."

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
Bingo!
Hence
no promises should be ever made based on "if-it's-a-true-love" condition
.

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
For me to.
An effort is very nice.
Not exactly "a true love", but again what is?

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
Very true statements!
But, Paradox, didn't these true statements just diminish your definition of a "true love"?
To ground zero.

it got you worried? Yeah, me too...

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
Sounds about right.
So, I assume that (according your definition) it (obviosly) should go both ways.
Now, this "keep trying"...
the term is kinda too loose to go by, no?
You realize that trying not always guaranteed a success. Up-and-downs will remain.
When it's a 'down phase', is it not a 'true love' anymore? Not enough trying?
You see, this "if-it's-a-true-love" condition is a good one...
for any turn of events
at any given point un a relationship.
I personally wouldn't tie myself to this tricky condition; can only rely on my partner's personality and on a degree of our competability.

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
That's a really tricky part
,
by whose definition of "true love"?
Even assuming that your respective definitions remain static over the time (which is not likely), still... whose? Yours or hers?

RE: BEHIND OR BESIDE
Right,
'beside' would define a successful couple.
Talking about just a 'successful man' but emphasizing who should take a credit for his success (fully or partially) it's 'behind'.

We'd need 2 separate baskets:
1 for men, and 1 for women.

RE: New Dating
Good evening Sassy.
Yes, I've heard about speed-dating.
Don't think I'd be interested to try it. To me, it sounds like a convair belt.
But I am sure it works for some ppl.

I don't believe this statement(question) holds the truth.
Not from my view point.
Why do you believe in negative vs positive?

RE: the pain
Rejections hurt. Yes.
Most rejections don't hurt one's heart but one's
ego
.
Still hurts of course, regardless...
if you see it us rejection
that is.
You just said yourself - they don't know who you really are - meaning they do not reject
you
.
If you got to know each other, you've met, you spent some time together, etc.; and then she said she is not interested, that would be rejection.

It's half-the-truth John.
You see, I have this cantaloupe...
And though I did learn something new this rainy Saturday morning but the question is - will I enjoy it[the cantaloupe] now?
...nah... don't think so. I'll have to throw it out or sent it to Rilly... errmmm... I mean to his grandpa...
