RE: Why do people lie?

I gave it up. I can not understand the human nature, sometimes myself included...
But, try to think this way: you are not the one who said a lie, so it is not your problem. Some one else has a problem. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALY, because if you do, the lie is causing the effect on you. We can not allow other people to "push" on us the effects of their attitudes.

I am learning this, in life, recently...

Pleaee, get the opinion of a "mature" lady. My list is long:

Bad teeth (not going to the dentist to take care of it)
bad breath, body odore (we are not with a shortage of water in Europe, and there is soap in every shop)
Liers, drugs, alchool, smoking, bullies, ignorance, eating pork, not loving pets...being lazy,don't want to learn...
Now everybody can understand why I am alone...

Great! For me it changed 35 years ago and i had to raise two children almost alone...ah!ah!ah! But I did it well! I can say to myself: Well done!

I don't care about money, I never did, the only man who paid my food it was my father. For the moment I would be happy with a gentleman able to pay his own food, plus his own expenses, some gas... I am not prepared to carry a partner, just because I don't have money... but he would have to work in the garden... sorry, we can take food aout of there...

I loved Obama Speech. I was one hour in youtube to get the all of it. His speech is a starting point of a process, which will take long and it is not a easy one.

The difference with Obama it is not the "colour" of his skin but the way he was educatted. He had the great chance in life, not many people has it, to be brought up in different countries and under different cultural and religious influences. This made him a special person. If his name was not Barak Hussein Obama a few things he said could have been misunderstood by the Muslims.
Hashem be with him (read in arabic or in hebraic)!

Off course I can cook, I am just like your mother... if you want know a few recipes, in Internet you can find "thousands" of sites with recipes...I would recomemd you some Morooco (try a Coscus one) or Lebanese dishes. Can you tell some thing about jordan food? I love Lebanese food...is it like Lebanon?

In the south of my country we also use "horse peas" in a lot of recipes. I love it. I love "humus".

This European Union looks like the Sovietic Union... They are "building" a huge structure of power based on less then 30% of the votes of people in Europe. Corruption is going on, almost every where... It is raining in my village, I have to pay a taxi to vote, I HATE politicians? What should I do?

Vote, representative democracy? This Political system is finished in my opinion, as the economic system!!!!

Should I go? I think i will give them my absence as a way of protesting. They have their high salaries, to do what in Bruxels?
Laws and regulations which no body in taking care and to make us EUROPEANS. I don't want to be european. I am portuguese, period.

Please "europeans" take good care of Mr. Barroso, don't send himback we have enough like him.

Your tread is quite interesting. I have no answer to it. Yes they vanish... and in Internet, when we think we have a friend, they just vanish.Off course there are the good and positive exceptions.
You will not get much answers in this forum, I presume, maybe I am wrong. But if you wish, I can tell you a few "funny" stories of "vanishing". Just contact me.

She may not be a desonest person. She may be insecure, not knowing what she wants... Do you know how many times I get answers to my mail and after a few weeks people are "gone", without a simple word? Don't creat many ilusions in these kind of sites. A lot of people they are here just to chat, to have pal pens. Serious relationships are very difficult, this is my experience. Never the less we can meet nice people in this site and have nice conversations, changing of experiences... but don't wish to much, you can get disapointed. I am a "quite mature" lady.

Mr.Ahmadinejad is a intellegent man...he said yesterday Iran will give all the rights to the young journalist to present her defense... He is using this young lady, as he did before in other situations (like the american soldiers...) to get a lot of "noise" and "propaganda" around the world. Then, and when he thinks it is the right time, he will make a "generous" decision and have "mercy", according with his vison of the Coran...He may send the young lady back home, showing to the world how he is a good man and Iran is a country with "justice". He is just playing around with all of us...
The young journalist has all my solidarity, but when she decided to go back to the mother land of her father she should know the risks of being an USA citizen in Iran...I took many risks in my life when I was young, because of my political views and actions. I paid some risks. I never regret them. She is young, she will survive to this if she has a good moral. I beleive she does.

There is a large group of genetists saying that a considerable part of nothern europe was repopulated after the glaciation with people who were able to survive during the glaciation in the southern areas of Europe: Iberia (Portugal and Spain), South of France, Italy, etc. So we can not talk about "spaniards", as spaniards are a cultural group not a genetic one. This is much before of the identity as nations. This Iberian people they came from Caucasus, more then 20.000 years ago. We have pictures on stones from those huntering populations. Today a considerable percentage of the actual Portuguese people are de decendents of those caucasians. The basques, because they were in the mountains, only with rocks, where the romans haven't any interest to go, they were the only group in Iberia who was able to keep their caucasian language.
So, english friends, you can like it or not, but a lot of you have the genetic roots in Iberia... that's why you love to come back to "your" sunny land for holidays.
Why a lot of you have blond hair and blue eyes? You know, those Vickings were terrible with women::heart1: We humans, we loose melanine very quickly when we are not exposed to sunshine. So in 10, 8.000 years it can make a difference.
To me the University who did my DNA test said I have a lot of "cousins" in Ossetia...I went mad...It can make sense. The Ossetians were the Alans, a caucasian people who had a Kingdoom in France and they came to Portugal after the Roman Empire. They were here not for long...
BUT DON'T TRY TO FIND YOUR ROOTS IN AFRICA. You can have a CHOCK... I beleived I have found my African roots...the pygmies... I am short, only more 10 cms in 80.000 years... ( I am 1,55 now, my "grandmother" had 1,45).

A man to protect me!!!!!! Only my father, but he passed away many years ago. I have beenn protecting men all my life...I was giving moral support to soldiers, crying like babies after the military operations...Security from a man? I got it from my own "blood sweet and tears".

VODKA??? It is on of your main problems in the Eastern Europe countries...Alchool can be you wort enimy when you are alone. You start joking and then you are close to have an alchoolic adition. I know what I am talking about. Many year ago I was almost with a problem... I was enough intellegent to see before the "disaster" and I put an end. Today, once in a while I have my glass of wine with a good meal.

It is not easy to be positive when one in alone. We have to start thinking about new and alternative ways of live. New communities!!! good subject to talk about.

In western country we tend to confuse the true word of the CORAN with the man interpretation of the muslim law. There are a lot of distorsions, made by man, not by the BOOK...In my country, in this "free" europe today in my neigbourwood there women being fisical molested by their unbands and father, not alowed to get a job, even when get one in this crisis, crying because unbands don't allow them to go back to scholl to improve their education... and so, and so... a nightmare. I have worked with muslims for a few years and as an hotel manager I could see people from different back grounds. I always remenber one Saudi gentlemen, widowed, with two grown up daugthers, one of them divorced, doing a lot of non sence, spending the father money, going out late in the evening, and the man was a saint. He said to me he could get married again because his daugther would agree with that...the wife of my muslim both was making his life unpossible and controlling every thing...I would not allowed any of my children to behave like that and I am european.
In the west, the so called "first world" we talk a lot about human rights, but as our young man from Mombay says, we should look more to our next door. We have a serious crisis of values and social justice in the western countries. We think we can go ahead with our level of consumption (even in this crisis), but we do not think if Indinans, Pasquitanis, Chineses would have the same level: the world would be exploding do to ecological desaster...we have, all of us start thinking about new aways of living in society and comunity, the western and the eatern countries. There good values in both side. We must get what is best.

You have to talk about these issue before they start doing wrong things. You have to tell them what is wrong and what is right and above all give them a good exemple, they must see in mother and father their "models" in society.
I have a daugther with 37 and a son with 35, they are nice people, good citizens. My daugther is giving a very good education to my grand daugther. We don´t have problems in the family. When I was young I had another person who was my "heroo" a old friend of the family and today a see my self as his intelectual daugther. He passed away many years agoo, but I always remember him. Children need good exemples.
I don't know if I have give any answer.
