awww sorry to see you go but very happy you found what you did while here!!! Wishing you both the very VERY best and have a great time when you head out there in 1100 some odd hours
I have given it a great deal of thought actually. I have always been of a traveling soul and actually have always found I blend very easily into any cultural environment I have ever been surrounded by in the states. Granted it is not the same as a foreign country but there are places where it comes real close.
I have many traditions of my own that stem from cultures all around the world and have always viewed myself as more of a world citizen then any one cultural identifier. Perhaps having these kind of views my entire life makes it much easier for me to say that re-locating for me is only a matter of paperwork and would be as easy for me as filing for any required documents to become a resident of any country. (Which is not always an easy thing to do)
Today's world sadly is making this harder and harder to do but I am still very willing to do so. I do have family ties but even now I sit close to 3000 miles apart from family and that is to the nearest one, others are even further away. All three of my kids are grown and I do have a new grand daughter that I got to meet last December and who will be 1 in July. Not having lived "next door" to "all" my family is something else that makes it easier for me. Because my family has always been scattered across the states and the world so it is something we are all accustomed to in having an Aunt in this or that country, a brother 3000 miles away etc etc.
All the property I own fits easily into my truck so there is simply not anything that ties me down to any one place and the past two years I have traveled over 14000 miles in just going around the states from family member to family member spending time helping them with whatever I could and enjoying some time together with each. This too plays a part in how easy it will be for me to re-locate.
With the available resources of the Internet and computers it is easy to have visual conversations and instant correspondence so here again it becomes something I have been familiar with in 'relating to family' via computers since the early/mid 90's in other words not much would change in how I communicate and relate with my family no matter where I lived in the world, so again it an ease in relocating is evident.
Lastly for this posting I will add that yes I have thought about various outcomes of relocating as well and things will be dealt with should they ever have to be so there is simply no concern for me there either. The other thing that makes it so much easier and likely one of the most important for me is that my family is supportive and encouraging of what I do, and yes they are aware of my current situation and what it may mean. So all of these things and more have been seriously thought about by me and this is the final outcome...
Yes I would happily, and easily, re-locate! (easily being relative to the difficulty that may be found in Australian permanent visa paperwork.)
